  • Gaylord....why the hell would you name your child that? Lmao...that has to suck...

  • Wes craven did do a great job on his first film

  • ...I'm sorry, but did it say that dude's name was "Gaylord"? *stifles laughter* My god, what the hell were his parents ON!? XD Oh, man, imagine that poor guy's elementary school life...

  • @abc123dadada Lmfao...my thoughts exactly!!

  • i love this movie but it seems like it was trying to be a comedy a little bit at the same time

  • Kinda reminded me of the Taxi driver abit that guy.

  • What a waste of time.

  • What a surprise to see Martin Kove in the credits. I had to watch it again to recognize him. Did he play a lot of film cops? I remember him as a detective in the 1980s on Cagney and Lacey. He's the only character actor I recognized who went on to do something else after this. Were there others?

  • I love this song!!!!

  • @scrowfan41 the remake was horrible!!!! the acting sucked and the story sucked!!!

this one was waaay creepier!! and what do you expect the music to be!?! sorry that rap and hip hop wasnt invented in the 70's. its not like they could put music from the future in it! and back in its time it was really freaky!! just think, this was the first movie that came out after the universal monster movies. so from going to PG monster movies to brutal rape and murder movies. thats pretty damn cool!!

  • David A. Hess singing. xD lol

  • I could appreciate this movie more if the music wasn't so damn uplifting. And that there wasn't the comic relief police in it.

  • this ones better the remake fucks a peanut butter sammich

  • Somebody needs to do a parody of this!

  • That poor bastard's name is Gaylord! lol

  • Thats guys name ia gaylord amirite?

  • i want the last 90 minutes of my life back

  • If you only watched this ending you would think this is a cheesy comedy from the 70s

  • @kimi2wara You do have a point there but I guess after all the uneasiness that went on in that movie, you would need that ending... but that was also the brillance of the early 70s low budget films!!

  • It was amazing how much it felt like I was witnessing an ACTUAL CRIME. The director's vision was light years ahead of his time.

  • i was disappointed. i thought the parents were going to marathon torture the murders. nothing like i thought it was going to be like. or that the murders were going to marathon the two girls in the woods and stuff. straw dogs is a good movie watch it.

  • hahahahaha gaylord

  • this music craps me up! this music dosnt go with the movie at all. its all cheery and fun, when the movie is horrifying, disturbing and weird. hehehe

  • 0:18 lol junior looks so weird

  • I think the question would be pennlylessandpompous, at what point were the parents safe to the point they could call the cops, personally, I would nullify.

  • What's the name of the song?

  • ur so right they would never know that itz a horror movie

  • lmao, it ending with this music.

  • 0:22 GAYLORD??? O_o Crazy name =) =) ;D ;D

  • i can't imagine how rough school must have been for him. Thomas? Here. Bradford? Here. Nicholas? Here. Gaylord? Here. (Whole class laughs).

  • Hahahahahaha I was thinking Krug reminds me of someone but couldn't figure it out...I knew it was someone likeable, which made watching this really weird...I just got it. Andy, from Hamish and Andy.

  • lol this movie is so corny

  • Every video on Last House, i keep seeing the same old ''remake is better'' comment. That is such crap. This is one of the most horrifying, and disturbing films ever made. I find it to be scarier than The Exorcist. One youtube user has said that this film has no emotion. Good. For that, the film has held up. Wes Craven and Sean Cunnigham shot this film like a documentary, and that's why the film is so scary. it makes you think that there are people like this in the world.

  • Do you think today's shockers like Saw or Hostel are as raw as this movie?

  • No. Films like saw and hostel don't have that raw edge to them, like this movie, or Texas Chainsaw Massacre do. That raw edge that makes the film feel like a documentary, or that someone just filmed these people getting killed, which is what makes this film so terrifying. It could happen anywhere, which is really scary.

  • @MaxHard9000

Well Hostel and Saw knew how to rape and assault the senses of a new generation of moviegoers just like Last House did in 1972 or are they laughable? afterall Hostel/Saw are an allegory on the attacks of 9/11 and terrorism as much as Last House was to Vietnam.

  • Badly made or not, the question is, and I regard this movie as a moral tale, how far should one/would you go to avenge your family? I 'm a lawyer by trade, so I'm supposed to abide by the law with all its attendant procedures, and yet if someone raped and kill my daughter (which I do not have btw), well, I'd rather not examine that area. Got my meaning? Of course, you do.

  • I would've avoided the funky, cheerful music and "comedy" scenes in the movie, but would still leave the credits like this for the "what the fuck" effect.

  • yeah

  • if someone just strolled therw youtube a seeing the credits it looks like a happy go lucky family movie lol

  • If the music was scary and the directing was better i would have loved this movie.

  • what a couple!

  • True.

  • Remake was Hollywood emotionless shit.

  • What's up with the happy country hilly billy music ?!

  • Seemed over-rated. Though maybe that's due to the fact that half the film was missing! Is this on DVD??

  • "The remake was better" is such crap. This movie changed horror films forever. This was Wes Craven's greatest piece. It may not seem scary anymore now that these ideas have been played out for over thirty years, but at the time this was shocking. Where's the appreciation, y'all?

  • The remake is definitely NOT better. It is one of the poorest movies I've ever seen.

  • @betheoyster the remake is better tho

  • @betheoyster how did this piece of sh....change horror i hated this movie halloween and the exorcist were great flicks last house was sick and i cant consider it a horror film.the exorcist had better shock value and was dont quite well but last house i believe was wes craven's first film and it shows to,but once freddy came a round wes became a big time director hes good but last house was just awful awful and it should be banned everywhere even burn

  • @betheoyster I liked the remake way better. So much more detail. So much less unnessecary weirdness. And those corny cops were no where to be seen, thank god.

  • @betheoyster - Can I Get an AMEN on that?!!!

  • @betheoyster

This film made me sick when i was 14 when i rented it and left me a bit scarred but it is still an unpleasant film. Have you seen Martyrs, Ichi The Killer, Maniac, Funny Games, etc.? similar films. I hear Serbian Film is worse than this as it's considered the sickest film in recent memory but i refuse to see that one after the things i've heard

  • its unfair to compare this with the remake with all those censors going on.. but i pretty quite agree that the music was dumb though lol

  • I loved the remake i was suprised to see it was just as twisted as this one.

  • the remake will never be better than this. they never are better than the originals.

  • Remake=cool

    Original=cooler

  • gaylord

  • The remake runs circles around the original!

  • the remake will ruin this!!

  • I loved this, the parent's fought back where the law probably would have given them a slap on the wrist, a chance for parole or "good behavior ".

  • it wasn't at all scary seems normal to me i thought there would whole lot more zest to it but the whole breaking teeth thing that was awesome he should have done it for real <3

  • this has to be the weirdest end credits ever. it's such a violent and sadistic movie, yet the credits music is all happy and yip yup

  • Awesome movie. Cant wait to see the remake.

  • gaylord st. james????????? that is the most weird name i have ever heard.

  • Fred Lincoln looks like Stu Deutsch.

  • the credit music don't suit the movie

  • david hess, who played krug, did the music. he also did the music in roth's cabin fever, and was a writer for elvis.

  • wow if the remake is better than this ill be happy =-) but scared 0.0

  • haha , his name ^-^

    Gaylord

  • amazing movie.

mabye the remake wont b so bad actually

  • If you listen to the lyrics of that song at the end they say some of the characters names...(Sadie, Mari, Junior). Just thought that was interesting.

    Great movie, btw.

  • The remake probably wont as good as the original, but everyone knows that the way the parents get back at those guys will be 100% worse, cause face it ppl lol hollywood is messed up now a days, u can watch saw to understand that.

  • Yeah, I'm actually looking forward to the creative gore of the 2009 remake. Plus the picture'll be better, and this time around, I think Mari survives. I'll give it a shot- it looks promising!

  • I got a sneek peak into the remake and as usual it was shit. Literally and figuratively shit. It wasn't as bad as hhe but the ending...What a cop out. Fucking hollywood assholes. This one chilled me to the bone and left me truly frightened and mortified by what I saw-Craven, I don't know what happened to your talent but it is long gone.

  • They didn't even kill two of the four. The one guy shot himself and the killer who had his hands tied behind his back just got it junk bitten off...I guess he could have died from blood loss...

  • he probably died from blood loss. getting your dick chopped off can be as fatal as having your throat cut. only it takes longer when it's the dick.

  • LOL I know that wasn't supposed to be comical but I just found what you said hilarious.

  • this is a stupid movie.

  • no it aint

  • if someone walked in during these credits they would probably think you just watched smokey and the bandit or some shit

  • LOL

  • LMAO i thought that same thing!!! This movie is about killing and torture, and u get to the end credits and i feel like im watching some messed up version of a doublement gum or mentos breathmint commercial WTH!!!!!

  • i loved it revenege!

  • just love that happy music at the end

  • Gaylord has to the worst name ever

  • that was good. I totally have to see the real version. Not the new one. This one. These old films relied on suspense and gore to keep us appalled, not computery magic dust.

  • If I just found out that my daughter was raped and murdered and the killers was in my home I would probably snap too. I think many people would if they actually cared/loved their own daughter. Great Horror Classic

  • HAHAHAHAHA GAYLORD!ST JAMES!!!!!!! super LMFAO!

  • Ada Washington FTW!

  • gaylord st james???? lmfao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It was freaky... thinking that anyone could be that evil just because... and then that the dad could become just as savage...

now i get what wes craven meant when he said he doesn't just sit down on a saturday afternoon and watch this old film!

  • Upon seeing the movie for the 1st time I can say things have changed & we're alot less sensitized than we were in 1972. Even movies like Constantine are more violent in comparison..minus the rape of course. I'm ready for a re-make with more balls

  • gaylord st. james?

  • Gaylord St.James...as far as first names?...FAIL.

  • well now in the end id really expected some more somehow but it seems that no parts of the body were cutten off with chainsaw so id rather look movies from lucio fulci

  • Wes Craven's best movie.

  • Not to be complaining or anything but... what the hell happened to Phyllis' parents? They didn't give a shit that her daughter disappeared? ^^

  • I guess the whole point is, uh, always by drugs from a reputable source. DON'T ever go looking for weed by yourself in a tough neighborhood, especially if you're a girl w/o a bra.

  • gaylord..what a hilarious name!

  • wow i feel like crying after watching this...jeez..

  • perfect ending.

  • mommy 2 daddy 1....mom WINS!!

  • But he used a chainsaw to finish the guy off, i think that gets him some extra points.

  • But the mom finished the guy off twice if you know what i mean.

  • Huh... that was definately 70's. I don't know, 2 outta 5 stars. Pretty dirty and weird how they did that in the 70's."The kids of today should defend themselves against the 70's..."

  • It's done in 70's style. When your child has been killed , you don't really give a F**K about the outcome when the murderers are right at your grasp. As for the music. Watch House Of 1000 Corpes and Devil's Rejects. Thanks for the post. A Wes Craven cult Classic.

  • The film is garbage. Badly done in every way. Why isn't there a build up before the parents decide to become murderers? Why don't they consider what they're doing- where is the drama? That stupid music on the end credits is so out of place. It's just an excuse for a lot of lurid gore: that's the only reason people watch it. Try Bergman's VIRGIN SPRING: same plot done 1000 times better.

  • Haha that one guys name is GAYLORD

  • lol xD

  • There is one movie where the lead actor's name is Gaylord Focker.XD

  • what movie would that be?

  • Meet the Parents

  • correction. the lead charactors name is gaylord focker :)

  • Right,sorry my english fails sometimes ;)

  • im not an ass i was being sarcastic :) or ironic wteva u wanna call it :)

  • I never called you an ass.English is not my first language im bound to get corrected once in a while.:)

  • This film just keeps getting better, and better.
