Have you got a PS2? If so, look for Sonic Mega Collection Plus. That has Sonic 1, 2, 3 AND Knuckles, plus Sonic 2 And Knuckles and Sonic 3 And Knuckles! ;)

@MetalTala Not really, you have to manually save your progress for them and other games using the Mega Collection Menu. Sonic 3 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles, however, automatically save as you play, so you can go back to the last zone you did without having to load it manually.
