The first time I heard this, the last line, to me, sounded like "Tell me what you think about committing suicide with a gun", don't ask me how...of course, the actual line isn't far off...
This is just a fantastic album and I probably like it more than most beatle albums. This is probably in my top 20 albums and I have been collecting since 1975. It combines humor, great songs, great production and engineering. Almost has a Zappa kinda quality to it.
@GaryNull I think it's better than the original Rutles album because it has more songs with serious lyrics instead of nonsense like cheese and onions or some kind of gibberish cuz they're focusing more on jokish imitation than trying to make serious sounding songs. It's a favorite of mine too. I'd play it all the time, but I have it on cassette, so it's easier to play something else I have on mp3.
first time i heard this song i gasped then nearly wept when the song was cut short after the lyric: "And can you tell what you think about how easy it can be to buy a gun- do you think it's : crazy; half crazy; not crazy at all?
Every once in a while for the past couple of weeks, the words "crunchy, half-crunchy, or not crunchy at all" would pop into my mind. Finally today I also remembered a bit more of it and remembered it was a Rutles song. It's been a LONG time since I heard this one; thanks for posting! Brilliant, brilliant, BRILLIANT.
It's amazing how they made great music with this joke!
