Interesting choice at flying so low. I realise with a sim you don't have the possibility of engines failing and I'm not sure how well these things fly with no power (probably about as well as an explosive brick). I bought this sim way back when it came out but didn't have the discipline to learn how to fly it. For that I respect you :) Great landing too. I think if I was going to get into this properly I'd be buying a trackIR and using eyefinity with 3 screens.
Awesome... just a quick question... but wasn't that a really loose pattern? I would think that normal patterns, especially for the A-10, would be much tighter. I know that for general aviation, you cut power and turn base as you reach the approach end of the runway... just wondering why you flew it that way.
@RyderSpearmann The challenge given was to fly an overloaded A-10 (a few thousand pounds over max gross weight) through one pattern and safely land it. Given that I was outside parameters, I opted against aerobatics and flew the pattern wide and shallow.

Does this have free flight? Meaning, start up take off, fly around do whatever you want.. and not have to do missions.

@TheStellalicious Yes, it comes with empty missions. You can use the mission editor as well and just not place threats.

Did you manage to lock yourself in the cockpit by turning off all the power??
HeadDrauma 1 year ago
@HeadDrauma If I recall correctly, in the game you can operate the canopy with the battery off. No idea if that's how it works in real life.
