Thats remarkable. I'm in choir also. we do the same thing with body movements. keep time by moving, & when theres different rhythms going on at different times, you have to keep the beat somehow. And it' all aCapella, the only thing you can use is your body. And thats why choirs chose to move to the beat. Believe me, its better to not move in some circumstances. But in others it adds to the whole experience.

I guess you have to be in choir to really understand it.

I thought it was awesome. By the way, a cappella groups bounce on their toes because it's part of the way they give each other musical cues, and they help each other keep time by doing that. It would probably screw up the rhythm if they didn't. They aren't dancing, and they aren't trying to look cool.

They're a university group, not high school. And while it may be visually distracting to some people, there's nothing wrong with them moving with the music; if you get that into it, sometimes you can't help but do it. It's not like it's a cardinal sin.

Background music great... soloist is very VERY pitchy. Being in an a capella group myself, I know it's hard to sing songs like this. The soloist has a beautiful voice with great range, but she gets pitchy in the middle.

Nice job. I suspect that the coordinated "bouncing" in the background and waving of arms was because it was early in the year and the group hadn't gotten used to singing together, but it was quite distracting from the visual aspect of the performance. However, the singing was very good -- this was the best song out of that performance. Keep up the good work.
