He hasn't said a word or interfered with their police duties at all. They didn't even know they were being recorded until they were about to leave. So they come back and go into this man's yard.

There was a man who video recorded the police pulling him over for speeding on his motorcyle and he posted the video on YouTube. The MD police went to his home with a warrant and confiscated the computers. They charged him with a felony.

The interestin part on this video is when the two British police officers see themselves being recorded from someone. The guy is standing in his back yard. He hasn't said a word or interfered with their police duties at all. They didn't even know they were being recorded until they were about to leave. So they come back and go into this man's yard.
Then they LIE to him saying he's broken the law. The best part:

This is a very old video, but things like this still happen. In the USA, it's illegal in the state of MD to record police officers/state troopers. There was a man who video recorded the police pulling him over for speeding on his motorcyle and he posted the video on YouTube. The MD police went to his home with a warrant and confiscated the computers. They charged him with a felony.
I don't understand why it would be illegal to video police officers detaining people on the street.

the most logical thing for us all to do is to go to the polices website, find that document that says we are allowed to film/take pictures, and everytime you plan to do so, you simply carry the printout with you, they stop you, ask for i.d. you show them that :P

This "peace officer" you refer to sounds American; the idea that the police may sometimes act illegally to uphold "peace" is an alien idea to us. in England they exist to enforce the law; apart from ancient English common law, the rest of the law is what is enacted by parliament. These people were acting lawfully. In England the Police simply does not have the authority to make it up as they go along.

Finland imo has superior definition of public space. Any space that is freely accesible to public is public space no matter who owns it. Also if the access is restricted such as concerts then you have to be informed at the point when you buy the ticket of the restriction.

Those who are engaged by the police for filming, should beware. it is a trained tactic used to provoke a (((response))) that could be grounds for arrest. The camera is just a gateway, an excuse to provoke otherwise lawful people, in to committing an offence.
So please be polite, and don't be drawn in to the trap to be combative. Understand police are not trained in the law, they are paid to follow orders.

Because the police officers, instructed by the State, are so corrupt, violent, and mentally-ill, there will soon be "laws" made/changed so we can never use cameras in public while in the presence of any governmental officials or officers for the purpose of eliminating "counter-surveillance." When they start acting outside the law they must be challenged. It is better to challenge them over issues like this than wait until they are detaining people because they belong to trades unions or look "suspicious".
