  • GREAT VID! managed to do it on my 8th time trying many thanks

  • reaches to do 1500rpm with thumb but impossible to continue the rotation,

    just lose speed..

any advice??? cuz i'll become crazy to don't succeed that

  • I've just ordered a Neon green powerball with rpm counter and I'm hoping to get it tomorrow or the day after that. And I'm hoping to learn this technique quickly as it looks way more convenient as a string

  • with just one try. amazing!

    Cheers!

  • it took me bwt a day (which is long) to learn, but i cn now do it with both hands nearly evry 1st tym :)

  • Back in the days of the Dynabee, we used to run them down the side of our leg. I never thought to use other hand.

  • got it! brilliant, thanks!

  • LOL it looks soooooo easy but is reallly hard

  • thank you!!! xD

  • good technique... another way that Ive found to be effective is just striking it against the palm of your hand. make sure you strike the palm in the same direction of the guide line then start rotating. this way gives you more power so its easier for beginners. also if it doesnt start good enough the first strike then u can hit it against your palm again, the technique he shows is good but a bit more advanced

  • Weird, was trying for about 5 minutes with my right hand and it didn't work, so I tried with my left, and it worked!

  • a very nice concise video.....how it should be on youtube....thanks

  • very nice concise video......how it should be on youtube.....thanks

  • done it first time :S

  • ta, took me 6 attempts to learn. used to roll it off my leg (i always wear jeans) before now.. lost my string ages ago =)

  • This help loads, I can do this now after a few hours practice. i only got my PB yday too.

  • ur a legend!! got it in my 1st few goes!!

  • cool second try :D

  • Thanks! Learned it :D

  • sweet, done it first time :D

  • took me forver to learn thanks a mil

  • thanks very much.

i now got my powerball going well very quickly without the use of the string.

    great video

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I've got it spinning without the cord, thank you a lot man!

  • That's great! I got it!!

  • wee! i did it!

  • thank you

  • I lost my strings on the first day i got it, so I taught myself how to do this, it's really easy.

  • Im struggling lol, only got my powerball this evening, but Im up to 11k top speed and Im trying to start it with my thumb, coz the string is such a pain. I can stat the lights off slightly from the thumb flick but can't get the technique to start the rotation off. The Gyro turns but I just lose speed and it fails after about 5 seconds.

  • took 1 day to learn that but now its easy :)

  • I can't get it to work, yet. :P with a bit more of practice I guess it'll be way easier

  • At last.....you've shown me the way !!!!

  • thankk you :P

  • this isn't hard at all, i started my friends one like that first try, he was amazed. i don't even have a powerball and i haven't used one in over a year, so yeah

  • its hard!!!!!! arrrrhh!

  • i love the powerball, forget all the people saying it's rubbish, i'm just enjoying it so much

    thanks for teaching this!

im not very strong so i cant flick it hard enough lol....

    time for some practice!

  • Got it in 5 minutes, thanks a lot :)

  • thank you! exactly for this i am looking for, it works! :)

  • thanks for the technique tip.

but it's not that hard.I bought It today and mastered it.

no need to have the rope with me! :P

  • Thank you so much !!! [2]

  • It's hard! I just got my Powerball today btw.

  • thank you so much!!

    i've got it!

  • cheers mate thanks alot

  • wow perfect! I finally started it!

  • I got it! Cheers.

  • thank you, it works!

at first i had some problems... i couldn't start it if i was sitting (different hand position). But now i got it :))

  • This is a good start tech. picked it up within a few days andit still good. thanks Mate

  • Works Brilliantly tahnkyou very much.

  • Thank you mate :D The string is tedious and this is more comfortable and cooler ;)

  • I still have issues getting it started like this. I think it might stem from lack of revolutions from the actual flicking of my thumb across it. No matter how many times I practice, I can't seem to get the ball spinning very quickly with the first flick and it ends up stopping after about a dozen wrist movements.

    Any advice?

Good video btw. Managed to get it started twice like this (out of about 100 times hehe)

  • Wow!!! Very nice! Its the first time I did! Tks bro!

  • hehe! i tossed away the string the first day, allways used this way to start it:)

  • thanks all i need was the line up now i get it everytime thanks mate for the advise(now o show off)

  • Thanks, did it on 2nd try...just got my powerball yesterday, very useful tutorial :)

  • Just wanted to add my thanks. This is the only video that explained this Technique properly. I've finally started to do it, but it's not as consistent as I would like. Any tips?

  • Practice, practice, practice! In no time at all, you'll be able to start it EVERY time with your thumb.

  • i learn that for my own. nice!!

  • sbradd i bought a powerball from you like a few days ago i just got it today thx!

  • thanks so much for this tip! had the powerball in three days now and got sick of the string, and I thought this startup would be difficult but I did it on the first attemp! thx man!

  • i think it's one of the coolest things ever made. big hit in our office.

  • very nice :P i usually use my arm but hey :D gonna try this !

  • i lost my string :( guess i have to try this technique

  • Very good video. Thank you. I was fiddling with the string for about 30 minutes thinking I wasn't "advanced" enough to do it with the thumb method, but then I saw your video. Starting slowly is definitely the key. If you hear that scratching sound, you're close. Stay slow, and forget about that blasted string.

It's amazing how fast it spins. Really neat device. And even more amazing is how out of shape my arms feel after using it!

  • thanks, that help me !

  • what the point of this powerball things...like what is it what does it do ?

  • What exactly is a Powerball? It's a hand-held sphere within a sphere that can provide you with hours of fun as it simultaneously gives your fingers, hands, wrists, forearms, biceps, and triceps a great workout (via its powerful gyroscopic action)!

It's a wonderful tool that aids in the prevention and rehabilitation of carpal tunnel or other repetitive strain injuries affecting the wrists.

  • great explanation....

so where can you get one ??

  • From me on ebay...do an advanced search for seller: bradd78

  • ahh i finally got this! firstly i kept it at low revs to get the technique just right, then thanks 2 this vid the thumbing ball start works!

  • Woot! Got meh powerball techno yesterday! Still can't thumb flick :( Tis' hard :S

  • btw you can also start it on a carpet by holding it tightly and dragging it on the carpet but the carpet cant be too thick

  • It does work...for a while (however, this will cause a fiber build up inside the gyro and you will eventually have to open it up and clean it out). I don't recommend using carpet for starting the gyro.

  • Yeah me 2 first try :D really nice helped alot :D

  • hw much does the powerball cost?

  • Anywhere from $24 on up. Go to ebay and search: Blue Dynaflex Powerball Gyro

That should pull up one of my listings. You can then click on a link that shows all of the different models I sell.

  • i finally a good quick technique to start my powerball. using that string is anoying and takes time i hate it :S

  • ty! :D

  • Thanks for the simple and effective tutorial, I'm still practising the thumb start, not quite mastered it yet, but I've only been doing it for 10 minutes,

    thanks again

    Martin, Scotland

  • cool man! ity worked the first time!!

  • cheers buddy but now i cant stop it and my arm feels likes itrs about 2 fqall off

  • Nice, I just got my powerball on Christmas and I'm already tired of using the cord. Now I can start it with my thumb, it's very convienient. Thanks man.

  • Sweet I was wondering how the champion was doing that.(just got powerball today) Merry Christmas!

  • man, thanks for this tutorial! i've been trying to learn the thumb flick method(i got my powerball just now!) by watching nearly all the videos on youtube and on the official website - none of them helped me. but after watching your video twice, i did it!!

    thanks!

  • Thanks! Excellent instructions, I learned to start with thumb after watching this.

  • Thanks ,it also was the best instruction.

  • I managed to do it on my first try :)

  • It took me some time to realize you need to rotate the wrist AROUND the ball and not vice versa, but once I figured that out, I was home free. Never thought it was even possible. Gosu.

Thanks much, I don't know why your video is rated so low. Five stars!

  • lol, your comment helped me more than all those videos. :P

around the ball, around the ball. and i'm up and going

  • Same here! Tried for hours unsuccessfully, read your comment, and managed to do it for the first time! thanks.

    :)

  • lol..you know... first time i tried it worked. I couldn't get it to work after that, but when i see the video it works ...lol...THANKS

  • Clearly reading from a script

  • Thanks for the complement...no script, my friend. I sell powerballs as a hobby on eBay [seller: bradd78], but I preach the gospel as my "occupation."

Check out: Audio Evangelism dot com

  • Cool, i tried it and it worked right away, first-try, quite easy

  • probably better then spending 2 hours trying to unrap the starter string from the axel!!

    Grrrr!

    Tc

  • Thank you for sharing this technique!

    P.

  • cheers dude

  • COOL THX 4 THE TIPS

  • i know it too now, but i dont start it like that, i twist it slowly, and then it works better, no more strings yaaaay

  • To the guy that did the video, Thanks very much im using your video as a guide for newbies and it really works all of them learns how to use the thumb flick within an hour. Good job :)

  • can u do this with the 350hz metal one?

  • The 350hz model starts even easier with the thumb flick method (in my opinion).

  • does that thing emmit light also???

  • Yes it does (it contains several LEDs that light up as the RPMs increase). Buy one from me on eBay (search for seller: bradd78). Thanks!

  • did it after the 6th try ! :D thx for the video

  • yes! i can finally do it! thanks

  • Nice, thanks for the demo. I was flicking it okay but I wasn't rotating it properly. I did a circular motion and it always died down. Now I do it with a more sideways-straighter motion and it starts 40% of the time. At least I don't need the cord now :)

  • first try i did it, no more of that stupid annoying string, tyvm

  • My 7 year old son started doing that about 3 weeks ago, I need some more practice, grrr!!!
