thanks Revan, that's a heck of a compliment coming from you. I hope you are not just seeing the great cutting strength of the blade and attributing it to me.
Not at all,take the cut at 0:30 for example, you used your hips and body to cut with,your arm moved mostly after the blade cut through the mat, the result was a beautiful cut,minimize the arm movement and use your hips and body as much as possible,and that way it's also easier to maintain proper blade alignment.
thank you, this is a principle I was taught in the SCA, when I started cutting with live swords about a year ago I got the mistaken impression that I had been taught wrong. I also had a Bujinkan instructor who thought differently (but I knew he was shite with a sword). thank you sir for the wise words, please watch my cutting adjust yet again once my elbows heal.
I would love to hear more from you about that blade, who owns it, what their experience has been with it etc. I recently did a review of this sword on SBG and would like someone to come on the site and back up my views because so far I'm the only one to try a destiny blade over there. I love this little sword it rocks!
thank you, I was pretty amazed too, that thing cut through like it was a roll of butter! that sword isn't even really sharp. I can't wait to put it to my belt sander and make it shaving sharp, then we'll see some even smoother cuts I bet.
seriously, masurao swords from Destinyblade (dotcom) look to be great cutters. I'm very impressed.
awesome sword. musashi has this katana, wakizashi and tanto set that i'm going to buy, they have a lot of katanas and a few tantos but the only musashi wakizashi i've seen is in that set. how much you pay for tatami?
thank you, I like it a lot. I got it from destinyblade (dot-com).
Tatami can be pretty expensive and the cost varies wildly depending on where you are. if you are on the east coast I reccomend nihonzashi dotcom if you are on the west coast check out Bugei Trading Company. in both cases it is probably going to run a little over or under $100 for a box of 20 mats
Very nice Tom,very nice indeed, i see you've improved quite a bit, beautiful doubles.

@Ianflaer
How do you find the one handed cutting compared two handed?
Bookstop1337 3 months ago
@Bookstop1337 personally, I am better at single handed cutting as I have had more training and experience in it.

@Ianflaer

Bookstop1337 2 months ago
@Bookstop1337 yes this was straight out of the box.
