The feud between the Belmonts and Dracula began with this fight. Every century, the Dark Lord would rise again, only to be cast down by a whip wielding Hero.

Until 1999 during the Demon Castle War - when Julius Belmont and his compatriots (Alucard included) sealed Castlevania in the moon, cutting the Count off from his power source.

After his final defeat his soul would reincarnate into Soma Cruz - who in turn redeemed Mathias' spirit. Lords of Shadow is a reboot of the series.

The final bosses of castlevania are always so easy. Walters not the final boss, but he's still easy. I mean all they do is teleport and shoot fireballs.

I like the Castlevania series but why is it that all the male characters feel that they must seek revenge for the death of their loved ones. Leon, Mathias, hell even Hecter from Curse of Darkness. I think they could make a little bit of better reason for fighting evil. I wish Hidao Kojima had been involved with this project. He is such a good story teller. I think he could have come up with a better reason for the characters to fight dracula.

So Soma Cruz being the REINCARNATION of Dracula and fight to subdue the darkness within him TWICE doesn't count as something different? What about Richter merely seeking to rescue his loved ones, including the unlockable Maria Renard? And Shanoa was a FEMALE character who had every reason to seek revenge, even if she had all the emotional exuberance of a rock.

And Hideo Kojima directing the series? Uh, no. Much as I love Metal Gear, the Castlevania series is a different beast entirely.

I know, I know. Metal gear is completely different from Castlevania. I just ment that the story for Metal Gear is much more deep than just revenge. That's why I thought Kojima could make a better story to go along. and your right. Not every protagonis in the game wishes to avenge a loved one. Order of Ecclesia was the first one I ever played. I love it. I just ment that all the 3D Castlevania games have had that kind of protagonist.

The game's a year away, there's no playable version yet and Castlevania's track record in 3D is great-but-far-from perfect. Too fucking soon to start tooting your horn.

Are you kidding me? it looks like one of the best Castlevania games I've ever seen. It's got loads of famous actors all of which are british which is a huge improvement over the other games. The gameplay also looks amazing as well.

Looks good, sure, but the whole 'reboot' vibe that's being floated and the over-the-top God of War antics makes me wonder if this'll really feel like good ol' Castlevania. Personally, I think Legacy of Darkness is the one 3D Castlevania that got most things right (see my new vid).
