  • I picked up cup and bowl. Very nice

  • too big and too heavey

  • @juki0h You realize that this is for canoeing, not for hiking?

  • Amazon and they are the x-bowl and x-cup from Sea to Summit.

  • The collapsible bowl and cup, where did you get them?

  • Great gear

  • Liked and facebooked!

  • hey, do u know whats the name of the pot and pan and where can i get it?

  • What pot is that? I think most of us really want to know...

  • @Arendseye7 That's the GSI Hard Anodized Extreme 1L pot I use when soloing. I also have a larger one for multi-person trips. You can see all of my gear on the MaddyTheGoose web site under 'Gear' then follow the 'The Complete Gear List' link. I believe this kit has since been replaced by the Bugaboo set, basically the same but not hard anodized. You can hover still find some of these on the onlines stores, I recently bought a spare set.

  • @MaddyTheGoose Thx for the reply.

  • I'm going to set mine up like yours lol thanks!

  • That collapsible bowl and cup look awesome, cuts down on bulk too ;)

  • Well done on those pot cozys-that is a great fuel saver.

  • Your pot cosies really are brilliant, lightweight, and an extremely helpful idea - thank you!

  • Very well thought out kit. Great videos! Anthony.

  • How about a really detailed video about hou you make those pot cozy's??? Pls

  • I like the Sea to Summit bowl and cup. I will have to check them out. Thanks for showing.

  • Hiya, thanks for the great idea's! This is the kit I put together with inspiration from your video and find of gear I found while shopping. Keep the great videos coming!

    Thankies

    Raven

  • @blackraven1515 You did a great job. I'm glad my videos helped you out, you have some good ideas in yours too.

  • I really want to check out your website, but I keep getting a 404 Not Found error. Do you have any Idea why its doing that?

  • @EastTNSurvivalist Thanks for letting me know. It's currently on Google Sites which can go down every now and again, but it's generally pretty good. I'm in the process of writing the site over from scratch so stay tuned. Also, if you don't put the "w w w" in front of the site name it will give you a 404. Not sure what's going on with it but since I'm redoing the site anyhow I haven't took too much time to investigate. Thanks again.

  • Can you give me details on how you made your pot cosy? I want to make one for a trip into Killarney.

  • @glennnugent I've just made a video on how to make the pot cozies. It's just waiting for editing along with a bunch of other videos I have waiting in the wings. Rest assured, it's coming. Stay tuned!

  • the Sea to Summit cup and bowl look great. I have never seen those before.

  • I have been going nuts looking for a pot like yours. Where can I find one that has a lid like your for frying the bannock? Please advise. I'll keep my eyes out too. grrrr. It looks so good that bannock bread. I was hoping this video would have told me the maker and such. Help

  • @rookthepagan I'm having the same problem actually. I'd like to get a backup set but GSI has discontinued the cookset I'm using (GSI Hard Anodized Extreme). The hard anodized is a big feature since it distributes the heat evenly and is a very good non-stick material. Personally, I don't know why every outdoor cookset doesn't have a lid that doubles as a frying pan. The closest thing I can find is the GSI Bugaboo set but it only has one frying pan lid and only for the 2L pot.

  • I knew I seen that product before.

I just watched a video on the Sea to Summit X Bowl and X Mug. But I was sure that I saw it before. Thanks Maddy!

  • Great Setup, I like those collapsable bowl and cup.

    Thumbs Up

  • Great video as usual. The canoe tripping community really appreciate all your tips

  • Great video, glad to see you back on YouTube again. Quick question: did getting the x-summit bowl and cup eliminate your 500ml nalgene bowl, or do you still bring that but just didn't show in the video?

  • @agaul Yes, the 500ml widemouth nalgene container has been replaces by the xbowl and xcup. I used them for another season and like them as much now as I did when I first started using them. Excellent products.

  • Another great vid. thanx for sharing.

  • I would also like to see how you make the pot cozy as well. thanks for sharring

  • Could you give us a video on how you make the bowl cosy. Thanks again always look forward to your videos.

  • @tullysika It's coming...

  • Thanks for sharing your kit with us. Great to see you on again! 5**

  • I picked up a similar bowl and cup at REI but also added on the plate that I find very useful. The plate would be to large to fit inside your setup though. I find the plate is nice that I can use it as somewhat of a cutting board. The sides flip up the same way to help keep the food on the plate. It might help you out while cutting your Bannock bread.

  • i love the cup and the bowl iv got to get me some ! great review... havent herd from ya in a while ! awsome 5-5

  • Those X-Summit bowls and cups look awesome. the only thing that i have as a personal preference is to keep my utensil separate from the the rest of my kitchen gear, especially the sponge (as its the dirtiest thing in the house).

    5*****

  • @IrishProductionsND So far so good with the bowl and cup, time will be the real test. As for the sponge, I hear you. I once thought that as well but then I kind of switched gears. The way I see it, every time I use my pot, I'm pretty much always boiling water for at least some part of the meal so I do it first. Then I dip my spork in for a bit and whatever else I want to sanitize. Perhaps not the most bullet proof but it's enough to ease my mind and so far so good... no lost lunches yet :)

  • @MaddyTheGoose A little brush will do the same job but is much cleanlier than a sponge. Just my 2c and no big deal either way...

  • great video. where did you get the cup and bowl

  • Awesome video!!! Can't wait to see more videos of your adventures in the backcountry this summer. Keep up the great work 5 *****

  • great video

  • i enjoy the info you put on video. it has helped a lot.

  • Can't wait to see your videos this summer. A friend and myself came across your videos last summer when we were researching our first ever Algonquin hike. We went 4 days in the back country and used your video (mostly) to make some bannock. This summer we're planning a few more trips, I was thinking about filming it too! Keep up the great work, and like I said can't wait to see what you do this summer. Any hints as to what you have planned this summer?

  • @mrschoolbusman So far I've recorded videos on: making the pot cozies, dehydrating, putting a patina on a knife, wood splitting, more knots and an 8 day solo trip as well as other vids I'm forgetting. Lots of editing to do so it could take a little time to get through the editing - especially for the 8 days solo where I need to edit through 11 hours of video.

  • great video thanks

  • Very nice If I wasn't downsizing I would get that cup and bowl set.

  • Vary nice set up.

  • I like the Sea to Summit bowl and cup...very very handy indeed.
