  • By the way, nice gun.

  • @wikieditspam -thanks, Saigas are a great value. you can chuck them in your trunk or behind your seat and know you have a nice mid-range self defense or hunting rifle.

  • What does this have besides DBMs that the SKS doesn't?

  • @wikieditspam - cheaper to build and they are lighter. It's all a matter of choice. SKS are great but this is a new production rifle for the masses. sks are surplus and rebuilds.

  • The words "California Legal" disgust me

  • @AlwaysReadyAK47 -me too , the democrats just sent Gov. brown more legislation to be signed. soon california subjects wiil have to register their rifles and shotguns as well. i think ammunition registration is on his desk as well.

  • @javelin005 Prepare for higher taxes too, registration requires more government jobs which requires more tax income...I would leave that unconstitutional state as quickly as they are passing bullshit laws

  • @javelin005 Hey, gun registration isn't all that bad as long as it's handled as a census and not a black-list. They did do some really stupid laws though in the past, ones that banned random components that they thought showed up in "assault weapons", used really vague and incorrect terminology, and banned pistol grips. It's all kind of like how they tried to ban car parts that they associated with street racing, next thing you know, a lot of dads' Hondas got crushed for having cool air intakes.

  • @wikieditspam - doesn't bother me that much either. what does bother me is it will cost more money to maintain and will raise costs of purchase. plus cali also passed a law allowing DOJ to use funds pulled from DROS registration for their operational costs. 4473 is a de facto registration anyway.

  • @javelin005 I heard that any after-market part needs to be rated on some sort of ambiguous emission test, and it's so lengthy and costly that only big name brands are able to do it. That basically holds the rest of the market, smaller, less wide spread part makers that won't be able support themselves against that kind of interference. The worst part is that they have DUI style check-points for aftermarket parts, and they'll throw your car in an impound, and crush it if they think you streetrace

  • @wikieditspam - You're probably referring to CARB -california air resources board. yes, they are in control of all the emissions regs here in cali. don't worry if you're anywhere in the U.S. they're policies will eventually reach you too. they are pushing some kind of cap and trade scheme this year. the overwhelming democrat vote here in cali also supported the implementation of even tougher "environmental" regs. SUV liberals in cali are the biggest hypocrites.

  • @javelin005 It's not just liberals, nor because they're liberals. Cars are becoming heavier each year, ridiculously thick chassis weigh more than people think, and the cars are crammed full of airbags, satnav and air con. the prius uses materials that circumvent the earth before they're sold in California, it's too heavy. people need to realize that the way they'll make gasoline engines cleaner is if they put it in lighter, more aerodynamic cars, not strap it to an electric, and vice versa.

  • @wikieditspam- most of my friends are liberals. they are good people but they are as bad as bible thumpers. they are always trying to cram things down your throat. I am conservative but I don't try to force my views on anyone. i just want to be left alone. the answer to better cars lies in lighter cars , direct port fuel injection and overdrive transmissions.

  • Does CA-legal mean you need a stupid tool to release the mag?

  • @Cephas- not on this gun. it is "featurless" . if it had a pistol grip or any other "tactical" item . it would require a maglock. yeah, it is stupid as fuck.

  • @Cephas -not this one. read the rest of the posts. it has been explained. thx. yeah , cali sucks!

  • why dont you do pistol grip conversion?

  • @Passcase2 - I honestly like the way this stock feels. I have a lot of pistol gripped guns and this one would just be another. I still may buy a regular ak, but for this saiga i think i will just keep the "old man" stock.

  • @100silverpizza -thanks, good to know.

  • great rifle man...but why do you have the bullet button if it doesn't have any evil features on it? isnt just like a mini 14(no pistol grip, no flash supp., no foregrip) so its covered and legal without it right?

  • @DontTreadOnMe85 -correct. this rifle is featurless and has no bullet button. i just put Cali legal in the description because the original saiga hunter was on the ban list because it was imported by kalashnikov usa. you wouldnt believe it. i tried to get this rifle for years. the ffl's around hear would quake in thier boots if you even mentioned them ordering this for you. there are still ffl's who wont carry them.

  • @javelin005 just a crazy crazy CRAZY fuckin state we live in....this sucks...are there any protests or a rally we can go to? those seem to work so well for all the other "special interest" groups why not us? my letters to the governor are ending up in the trash i think

  • @DontTreadOnMe85 -no , we are heavily outnumbered by illiterate Democrat voters. cali belongs to them now. lets hope they enjoy the cesspool they create.

  • @DontTreadOnMe85

Check out CALGUNS.net they are leading the fight into gettting gun rights back into california.....glad I left that state

  • @doc1buc - I have an account. i like their forums. lots of good info. Yes , they and many others have fought hard for us. justice is slow. the legislature is full of so many leftists and progressive loons that they produce stupid laws without any real oppossition. they steam roll over the moderate democrats and republicans.

  • @LakeTahoeHunting -thanks. i was debating doing the conversion everyone else is doing , but then i decided against it. this rifle is functional and comfortable . i like it too much to change it. i think i may build a custom ak soon though.

  • i apreciate the link man..It wa really helpful..thanks!

  • Rifle *

  • Hey man wat store did u purchase your Rolfe at. I'm really interested in buying one. Ty

  • @VenomousSnow at city arms in pacifica ca.

  • @javelin005 ok bro thanks for the info. keep the vids going.

  • @javelin005 You got your saiga from city arms?!thats crazy because i go there all the time!i was aiming to get this or the saiga shotguns..so if this is CA legal, did city arms install the bullet button themselves? Also if its legal, are you allowed to put a pistol grip and 10rd mag at the same time?thanks...sweet videos by the way

  • @ssfrep -this gun has no pistol grip , so it is legal in california. all i did was put a clamp on front sight gas block.

these guns require too much mods to ad large cap mags and pistol grips . i advise you just order a gun with all the mods done already. ill send you a link to a company that handles converted and cali legal with bullet button installed.

  • what do you hunt with that?...

  • @reye35 - its the same round as an ak so i figure deer, pigs and humans can all be brought down with it at a medium range.

  • i thoughtt the magazines only held 5 rounds?

  • @Mauser2012 - i think that was how they used to come. as far as i know they all come with 10 round mags now. mine are 10 rd stock saiga.

  • Two Words: Skeletonized Stock! Liberate your Saiga!

  • @fraustosound - i actually like the cheap plastic stock. it shoulders well. its like grandpas hunting rifle but with ak cool. i wouldnt mind have a standard ak with trick stocks but im in cali. anything like that would require a "mag lock" to be legal.

  • Hey,

what size is the clamp on sight you have, is it the large or small? I wanna put the same sight on my midly convert saiga.

    THANKS

  • @CrazyWella - its the small (aks) model. no problem.

  • so is this what a legal ak in cal. looks like im from az and moved to il az gun laws fing rule i could have walked down the street with my ak47 strapped to my back

  • @treverlid87 -its a pain in the ass to explain. there are two types of aks allowed "featurless" like mine or full featured with a "bullet button" and 10 rd mag in place. if you arent comming to this shit hole state , don't worry about it. it would make your head spin. the loop hole was first exploited about 3 years after the ban in 03-04 range , now its common to see military guns at all the ranges.

  • Bullet Button Californians killers

  • @ThatHmoobGuy -yeah hate those things . thats why this gun still has a traditional stock so no Bullet button to get in the way of a quick mag reload. the only gun i will have with a bullet button is an AR cause they are easy to manipulate.

  • i like the front sight mod ...it looks like an israeli galil rifle now....saigas are cool but im wishing i just spent the extra money and bought a AK that doesnt need the mods.

  • @MrPettj - i only bought it cause i wanted a 7.62 x39 rifle that didnt have to have a bullet button in cali. i also liked the handguards. i like aks but the ergonomics on AR platform make it my first choice. thanks i'm glad you liked it.

  • @javelin005 ......yeah, Im leaning towards an AR build, but its just too expensive...i could get my saiga converted to an AK 74/103 for only another couple hundred. The Ak has its ergonomics as well...The ammo is cheap, and lots of companies make parts for them now.

  • Interested in a muzzle brake? you can put one on that doesn't require threading your barrel. I have this muzzle brake on my saiga ak-74 and it is solid as hell.

Go to carolinashooterssupply DOT c o m and look up the "all saiga parts" and scroll down and look at the DPH muzzle brake (7th item down) and if you use the code "CSS" you will get a 5% discount bro........ Since you have your front factory sight cut off, I am pretty sure you can still use this DPH muzzle brake with the adapter.

  • Hi

Hey, your barrel maybe threaded checkout Saiga forum.

  • @brent52 -that would be sweet. send me the link if you have it via Message. i'm interested. id put a trick Muzzle brake on this thing!

  • when I get mine, I want to put a pistok grip on it. I hear that when you do that, you have to get a mag lock or something to be compliant with Cali laws. Is this true? If so, that is VERY lame! lol. I hate Cali laws.

  • @ByronSW32 - hold off on that purchase. it cheaper to just get an ak with the bullet button already installed, pistol grip and cali compliant 30/10 round mag . it will only cost you like $450 ish. saiga are great but save yourself from unecessary mods by simply buying a cali compliant ak. ill send you the link via message since we cant post links in this post. and yes you can get most military style guns in cali. you just need to follow the guidlines.

  • @javelin005 really? hmm, I may do that. I hear the quality of the saiga is better though vs the USA made style ak's.

  • @ByronSW32 - Unless its a milled receiver all the ak's will be the same technology stamped metal design. trust me, an ak is an ak is an ak. my siaga is nothing more than a cheaply stamped symplistic wonder. dosent matter where its made as long as the quality control is there it will be good. i had a mak90 chinese ak. it looked no different from my siaga. they shoot fair enough and they are rugged.

  • @ByronSW32 Yeah stay the hell away from CAI....Saigas were made in the mother land lol you wouldn't go to japan to buy a chevy would you? hell nah lol Arsenals are great too but they are hella expensive. Arsenals is made form a saiga anyways haha Just make sure your 922 and your ready to rock and roll. You will probably need a bullet guide if you were to have the 5.45x39 cal. rifle because you can use factory AK-74 mags, but your in cali and you can't :( bullet guide makes it reliable too.

  • She looks like a FNL or beefy HK

  • @brent52 , yeah thats kinda the look i was going for. i like hk rifles, i just dont like that they are so damb expensive . i figured hk like features on ak action couldnt go wrong.

  • @javelin005

Its looks tight bro!!! if you ever come down to South San Jose firiing range or Saratoga Rod & gun club. email me.

Try moving the rear sight back farther.

  • Awesome.. I'm in San Jose and I'd like to get the name of the place were you bought the sight???

  • @brent52 -holes at google dont let you post dot coms on here so go to my video description. go to the ak accessories page. the'yre like 70 bucks . you use an sks sight tool to remove your windage stud and then you press it into the new clamp on sight. just be sure to order the correct one. (large or small style) i believe the sight in the picture is the old style. i ordered and recieved what appears to be an upgraded model . sight is open and the clamp bolts are recessed.

  • I like the mod. It does make it look a lot more menacing. I had one of these, but I sold it. I still have a converted .223 that I like a lot, but I need to finish modding it. Take a look at the Ultimak rail. Will give you a Socom look and makes it easy to mount a mini- reddot like the Primary Arms T1 clone.

  • @bulldogger71 - yeah, the rail systems are pretty rad. i love the way red dot scopes look - i just dont like batteries. i always forget to turn them off. i prefer iron sights. I got this gun cause i wanted a rifle with the rugged reliable and proven ak action. this is my "bump in the night gun" i always reach for it along with my SR9C if i sense anything suspicious.

  • @javelin005 LMAO. Well javelin, I guess great minds think alike. My EDC carry pistol (which also serves as my IDPA gun) is a Ruger SR9. It sleeps next to me on my nightstand with a Z5 LedWave tactical weaponlight on it everynight.

  • why hunt with a 7.62x39

  • @ieatwithjesus -I'm not a hunter. From what i've heard the ballistics are similar to 30/30 so i can imagine it would be suitable at medium range. From what I recall "hunter rifle" was the designation for all the imported polytec/norinco and saiga ak varients(pistol grip-less) that came in after the 922r sporting only assault weapon importation ban.

  • @javelin005 yeah im sure it will do the job but its expensive and wont touch a thing after 400 yards

  • Very nice.I also have the Saiga rifle but in the 223 caliber.I just wished the butt stock was solid.I hope somebody like Tapco makes the hunting type butt stock in the future.I like the front sight. How does that work with the original rear sight?

  • @sksman71 -i havent sighted it in yet , just fired a few shots through it that will be next trip to the range. yeah the stock is hollow it seems, but i really like the way it shoulders. you could always experiment and pour epoxy or something similiar in. tinkering is always part of the fun. if .308 wasnt so damb expensive , i would love to have the .308 version too. i love the simplicity of the kalashnikov design.

  • @javelin005 Yeah I think I tossed my butt stock in the garbage. Now i kick myself in the ass for that.I think if you use that expanding foam to put in the butt stock. That make it better.I know 308 is really great caliber rifle but it is expensive.I agree with you that the simplicity of the rifle is great and you don't really have to keep it that clean to fire it.Unlike the AR-15.I modified my rifle and added a pistol grip with a skeleton type butt stock. Then you hve to add a bullet button in CA.

  • Are suppressors CA legal?

  • @Wintermute01001 -no, i meant flash suppressor or muzzle break. of course in cali its only legal for me to install a muzzle brake unless i block the mag release . by federal standards i would also be required to add some u.s. made parts in order to add a flash suppressor to be .922r compliant. just a bunch of bureaucratic bullsh#t.

  • They can't take our guns away ;but they are making it super hard to get ammo, at least in northern CA.

  • Ur weapons are fucken on it! 600 bucks i might have to go get one! I hate the stock tho...stupid CA chicken shit rules!

  • @TheAIRBORNEfox -yeah, california progressives have eliminanted the evil pistol grip feature from our beloved semi-autos. ill have to say though i was very surprised how much i liked the feel of this saiga stock . it actually shoulders and points quite well. i have an assortment of pistol grip and traditional stocked guns. love my armalites but everyone has to have at least one kalashnikov varient.-lol

  • Son !!! Awesome vid !!!! How did you get that "front gas block sight " on that weapon, and where did you get it ? Thanks .

  • thank you, glad you like it-did you get my message. i also posted the link in my description.

  • Yup. Got it. Sent you one back. Thanks, buddy. ;)
