  • these aren't just syllabes, it's the language of love, really

  • i feel like watching the last of the mohicans right now.......under a tent in a rainforest......

  • This reminds me of "Avatar".

  • ... And i'm relocating to a rural place, away from stupid humans ( well, hard to find! )........... Nature is what i need. Life is too damn short to waste, especially when you're surrounded by beasts = most sheeple! They will not defeat me. I've had my share. I'm going to feel free, remind myself of who i truly am!... And i hope you do the same! Enough is enough...........

  • I wanna go out and do something heroic for the humanity :) Magnificent masterpiece!

  • Hermosa cancion, hoy recien se como se llama! Graciasss

  • very nice

  • Mountain and some weed with this song

  • with out this song I'd been dead and so would my best friend. i showed her this song, acouple months later i was getting suicidal, she saved my life by talking about it to some one else.

a month before that I'd saved her life from a cargo truck who went through a red light. thank you for creating this song wich makes me able to tell the tale.

  • Delta Airlines brought me here

  • Y'know, a lot of you guys are talking about this song being used in Avatar.

Are you sure? I mean, I know the style is very similar, but I don't recall EVER hearing this at any point in the film's soundtrack.

Also, the composer for Avatar's soundtrack was James Horner, not Karl Jenkins. However it might have been used in a trailer, but certainly not in the film.

  • @XxyberSnake you're right bud... it's not in the soundtrack, never was.

  • why do i want to put this song in Lion King 3???

  • Reminds me of the delfin show at Kolmården, And that life is good! :)

  • This song may sound nice and representing "life, spiritual, or world music" but it was made for an airline commercial. It was suppose to represent "primitive" music from indigenous tribes. This is not universal music it's made up music, but it sounds nice to the ears anyway.

  • Could anyone tell be what instrument this is? at 1:14 this a kind of 'indian flute' sound, I've always wondered.

  • @TheFatalDesire It could either be a panflute or a panpipe...

  • I belive it is used in Tears of the sun?... if not it sure sounds like it!

  • Hey, it's Old Man Jenkins!

  • This would be brilliant as an airline advert song, something like Quantas... I love African choir singing it's so powerful, 10/10!

  • @kierandempsey1 it was used by british airways a long time back!

  • @agentShrill6 I thought it was Avatar

  • wich movie had used this song?

  • @agentShirll6 Lord of the Rings

  • @AlexMercerConsumptio Best movies EVAR! <3

  • @agentShirll6 end credits of avatar

  • @agentShirll6, "Adiemus" probably sounds familiar because "The Time Machine" has a song in it that was based on it chord for chord.

    . .

Karl Jenkins released it in 1995, but it's still being imitated. Avatar & the likes...

  • How can this video plays only on the computer and not on the iPod touch?

  • @411jvg it does if you download it on listentoyoutube!

  • @SirFogfog listentoyoutube? IS THAT A YOUTUBE ACCOUNT OR THE WEBSITE?

  • @411jvg a website, no account or so.

  • @SirFogfog listentoyoutube? IS THAT A YOUTUBE ACCOUNT OR A WEBSITE?

  • I had the chance to hear this live. It's amazing

  • This is a beautiful song

  • reminds me of Avatar in a way, but none the less its a great song, a mixture of new age orchestra and African vocals and drums

  • @TheRisenRAGE Sorry, I have to ask- i was wondering-... Avatar the film or the show?

  • @sunnydale22 Avatar as in the movie :p the heavy CGI one which takes place on Pandora :3

  • @TheRisenRAGE I very much agree! Some of the notes, played with those instruments sound just identical. I've just become pretty obsessed with the series lately, so I had to ask. :3

  • @TheRisenRAGE Me too!

  • @TheRisenRAGE i see you :D

  • @TheRisenRAGE I thought of Avatar the second I heard this song :)

  • Brilliance!

  • Love.

  • @CanMartin The words may song like they are from another language, but they really aren't. In the sheet music with the copyright and background information, it explains how Karl Jenkins made up these words to really show the beauty of vowel and constants sounds through singing.

  • Comment removed

  • i think it actually IS a language.... an african language i think (i don't understand it but i think it sounds like many other african songs and i think i heard some words in another african song before)

  • is it weird that this song makes me want to colour myself in blue paint patterns and cover myself in mud to feel like my celtic ancestors?

  • @jaffacec yes that's quite strange :P

  • @jaffacec I was just thinking of myself as blue while listening to this...!

  • Reminds me of Lion King...sniff...good old cartoon.

  • @ILOVEMIKUANDLUCA You know that this movie ( the best done by disney) would be in cinemas in this fall in 3D?

  • i love this song

  • we are góing to sing it at school.

    I ♥ it!

  • I don't think it makes a difference what the words or meanings are. All we need to ask is "Is it good or not" my answer is simple. The track is amazing.

  • The song has 777 likes. It must have been sent from heaven.

  • this is the best explanation about the music that i could find:

Each Adiemus album is a collection of song-length pieces featuring harmonised vocal melody against an orchestral background. There are no lyrics as such, instead the vocalists sing syllables and 'words' invented by Jenkins.

there was more but i can't fit it all here and youtube won't let me copy the link

  • adiemus does not mean we will approach in latin...google it. people have said that it resembles the word but Jenkins claims to be unaware that the words were so similar.

  • Adiemus does mean we will approach in latin.

  • this kinda reminds me of african type music at parts. at least thats my oppinion. i really like this song!

  • So, I was a little disappointed when I found out that there were no actual words. But then when I really thought about it, How extraordinary that with such musical talent, you can make a truly beautiful piece that says absolutely nothing. Using voices just as instruments, you need no words! Very nice.

  • I'm singing this is choir <3

  • TROLLS ARE BITCHING!STOP ARGUING AND LISTEN TO THE MUSIC, DAMNIT!

  • THIS REMINDS ME OF AVATAR

  • Let's clear up the issue about the word "Adiemus." The Latin verb adeo, adire, adivi, aditus means "to approach," or "to come near," i.e., "to draw near." First person plural present tense form of the verb is Adiemus, which literally means "We will draw near."

  • Fantastic!

  • AMAZING!

  • Did Karl Jenkins write this song for the group Adiemus? :-) It's such a breathtaking song!

  • Comment removed

  • @berryfull1 no you don't, because they don't mean anything. It is vocalise. I've got the sheet music, the note from the composer (Karl Jenkins) states that this piece is wholly made of tribal sounds that mean nothing, they are simply for the sound of a tribal song.

  • @katy123555 Clearly the complex intricacies of sarcasm are lost on you. Get your head out of your arse

  • @berryfull1 Clearly you need to take your own advice because most people are smart enough to know that "the complex intricacies of sarcasm" cant usually be expressed through text. By the way, don't be a wimp and put arse, the word is ass.

  • @katy123555 It's common knowledge that the words mean nothing and takes the ignorant person about 3 seconds to figure that out with google. Sarcasm was warranted, just simply over your inflated head. Your comment was pointless and was only made so u could show off. I'm english don't use "ass" unless I'm referring to the animal. I'll make an exception: you have made a complete "ass" (double entendre look it up) of yourself, now scuttle off to read your sheet music and bother me again

  • I want this played at my Funeral.
