Wow! Thanks for that, that's interesting and absolutely correct. Checked it out on Wikipedia. Looks as though Quantum Jump just extended it a little for their record. So now we know :)
Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu is the Māori name for a hill, 305 metres (1,001 ft) high, close to Porangahau, south of Waipukurau in southern Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
Ha Ha! Glad I'm not the only saddo (or perhaps it is a hidden talent?). Yes at 43 I can still say it too!! My tape has long since bit the dust but know that particular episode I recorded it from featured The Boomtown Rats. :)
i did exactly the same a 9 years old. Taped it (tape may still exist),then played it over and over, writing it down until i knew it. At 41 i can still do it after 30 years of not trying. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE!
Ha Ha! It took me ages to find this. I have had the Quantum Jump record for years (1979). Unbelievably, I can say recite this Tamwaccawacca... etc word perfectly. As an 11 yr old child I recorded it on a reel of tape and brke it down (& wrote it down!) piece by piece. Won a competition at a disco for saying it perfectly!! SAD but true.... Doh!! Glad you all enjoyed it ;)
