an other question : do you use nails on fingerstyle?

@zohritube A lot of people do on their picking hand to help with the picking and sometimes even finger picks but It seems to be in my case anyway and in the case of a few others I have met that growing out your nails are just optional. I play with my nails cut short and it sounds just fine.

My advice I guess is to just grow your nails or using fingerpicks and see if it works out for you and if it feels more natural without the nails or picks go all for it.

@zohritube i'm certainly not as good at fingerstyle as this guy, but I usually use just my fingers and a plastic thumbpick or just my fingers...the thumb makes the bass notes (the overall "idea" of the chord in my mind) stand out a little more, and if you have long nails that helps a lot and saves you from hurting your fingertips a little bit but I still play with no nails sometimes
