that's because it's not meant to play back your music as if it was a real instrument because if it did then what would be the point of you making the song. it is used to make, and print the music sheet of your choice so you can play it afterward, and NOT actually play it in a exact replica of the instrument, because what would be the point of that.

you have several drums but for hip-hop you need something like a virtual DJ. this is more for rock or jazz music

You get a few sounds that would make a techno beat but I doubt you can, although if you try you might get a beat going but it's mostly instruments like drums, guitars and orchestra, but they do have some extras like helicopter, gunshot and several others
