  • Lizzy!!!!!!!!! you killerme!!!!!

  • Everlasting Minnie... The Queen of Blues.. Nothin more to say.

I use to perform some of her masterpieces with my blues band.

  • I love Minnie's voice better than any other female blues singer I've heard! I'm not claiming she's better than any one else, just that her voice appeals to me the most.

By good fortune, my fave living female singer, Hope Sandoval (of Mazzy Star), loves Memphis Minnie & has covered two MM songs. Who else but Hope could do so much justice to MM songs? No one, imo!

  • On my way to Frisco Town now.

  • This is so good you totally forget the few little scratches at the start .

I found a 78 by Minnie about 15 years ago, and never heard anything else she did.

    She made consistency good records!

    Thanks!

  • Nice presentation, thanks for putting this together!

  • Greatest female blues-singer !!

  • What I really want is the lyrics to "I'm a Bad Luck Woman." the wrong lyrics are all over google, but I wish I could find the right ones. I know darn well when people are printing lyrics that say "My man was kicking at another man's jaw" instead of "My man was kicking in another man's stall" that those are some bogus, wrong lyrics. Please if anyone knows the real lyrics to "I'm a Bad Luck Woman" let me know

  • She started recording in 1929, at age 32, a Chicago-based blues star who would record about two hundred sides...

  • Really fine post.
