If went around killing people in your name without you say so, you'd probably be pretty upset. Is it possible that God didn't tell those people to do it? People have killed for money, power, land, and yet the one that people get all passionately miffed about is "killing in the name of God" (so-called). And the thing is, all the other ones are what the people actually killed and warred for, whereas people just used God as an excuse (in the case of the instigators, not the deceived.)

Even after posting a completely respectable reply I get that I will burn in hell. This is what I hate about religions. I lead a normal way of life, I don't have sex with every other people, I don't hurt others and yet I will burn in hell because I think that g.o.d. is a way of explaining stuff that we don't already know. Christians who do drugs and fuck around will go to heaven if they get forgiveness before they die. Fair? Don't think so.

@masssina Actually, "Christians" who do stuff like that won't go to Heaven, but if the confess there sin and ask for forgiveness, they will. Those who truly love our Lord Jesus Christ and obey his law will go to Heaven. And it's not a religion, it's a relationship.

My point is that religion is not ultimately about being a good individual, but about following the rules of a book. Yes, the Bible is just a book. A very good book indeed, but not the only book. @masssina I don't know the Bible very well, but I know that there's a part where prophets loudly claim to speak in the name of God, then boast about all the good things they do and they'd condemn people for not being as good as they were. I think this is the kind of bullshit you're talking about :) I actually believe Christianity disapproves of this type of behavior and that Christians who interpret their religion this way are wrong. I know many people who truly find strength in going to church.

We are completely unable to atone for the sin that is in us. Sin requires punishment. Justice is demanded. That's what the Old Testament sacrifice was about. God set it up so that we could be redeemed. Jesus paid the price, and after that, all God wants is our lives, and obedience. I hope that one day your heart changes concerning this.
