@cspazz6991969 Bigger & Deffer was the name of his second album (after "Radio" then succeeded by "Walking with a panther" . "I'm Bad" was the lead single off "Bigger & Deffer" but it wasn't an album name. That pic is from the cassette single (First rap cassette I ever bought)...I upgraded to the CD now of course. This was his HARDEST album.

I love LL. I was totally into this album back in 1987. One question though - why is he obsessed with having sex only in the dark? "I broke my lampshade in half because I don't use the light" LOL
Classic Joint. I notice Nelly uses some lines from this song, "I'll never leave her for nothin only a crazy man would" and "Now and Laters, gumdrops, jelly beans"
Let's educate Soulja Toy. Please send his ass the link to this track. While LL is simply busting over drums and a really simply scratch(push), THE TRACK IS STILL FULL! Why? L is an EMCEE! This is what it is. The drum programming is WAY PHATTER even though this track is 20 years old than any of that current shit.
Soulja Toy just ryhmes over (shitty sounding) drums... LL was basically the same age that Soulja Toy is now when he made this. This really speaks to difference in the fan base today.
L tells a story with tight rhymes. Soulja boy says 'yool!' and talks about supermanning hos. That's why L has had a 20yr career and in 20yrs nobody will know who soulja boy is.
with the money these kids are making nowadays, who really cares if you'll be remember. If you can be smart about your money, not get caught up in material goods. Stay healthy, have a family, hell thats what matters most!
@MTXSHO9732vV8SHO I have to agree with you. This may be old school, but MC's of this time were 10x better and they all had their own style. Everyone today sounds alike or they bit they styles of these rappers. We should call todays MC Attack Of The Clones!!!
@MTXSHO9732vV8SHO Excellent point you make. LL was about the same age as Soulja Boy when he wrote this, and their lyrical ability is miles apart. Back then most EMCEE'S like L were lyrical geniuses. Lyrical content use to be the focus of rap music. All rapper's needed was a simple beat and a nice DJ. LL will always be a top notch emcee to me because of Radio & Bigger and Deffer. This dude did enough damage on those two albums to be written in stone for life as far as i'm concerned. The boy was truly BAD.
I couldn't agree more. LL Cool J was an absolutely sick rapper (still is, but most of his arsenal is love songs nowadays, much like early old-school Spoonie Gee). I always loved hearing all of the old songs he did in the battles he had with various rappers (Kool Moe Dee, Canibus, Wyclef Jean, etc.). "Jack The Ripper," "The Ripper Strikes Back," "Rasta Imposta," "Back Where I Belong" and "To Da Break Of Dawn" are still some of my favorite disses of all time.
