Based let's take this time to gain some movie knowledge. This film is based on a book by Thomas Harris. The Same THomas Harris who wrote Red Dragon, The Silence of The Lambs, Hannibal and Hannibal Rising and created the infamous Dr. Hannibal Lector. Just for those of you who don't know.
@codename617 An excellent read, shorter than his Hannibal novels, and very fast-paced. As with his other works, Harris leaves you amazed at the amount of detail he gives you about his antagonists' plots, leaving you wonder if he's seriously been contemplating some of this stuff himself, or if he's just a really good bullshitter. With Black Sunday, he makes it seem as if the only reason this hasn't been tried yet is the lack of a bitter war vet piloting a blimp....
The poor quality of the 3 ads, fails to properly represent the much higher production quality of the film. Interestingly -- somewhat strangely -- the film takes extra time going into the details on the weapon's construction. The bomb, designed by a bitter psychotic vietnam war veteran being manipulated by the Palestinian terrorists, was actually a large claymore mine with over a million ball bearings covering the blimp's bottom carriage -- shape charged to kill everyone inside the Super Bowl.
This was the very first movie I ever saw. I was 3 and my mom took me and my sister to the drive in to see it. Why isnt it anywhere on line, you tube, or watch movies?
Yeah, I remember seeing this with my parents at the drive-in. Pretty good little flick, too! And johnnyhorror, I know just how you feel. Especially when they tell the crowd about the bomb and you cant' have a well-mannered, orderly incident!
Great old movie, need to make a remake

@AlchemicGnosis I had no idea about that, but watching it now it makes sense! Really thin dialouge.

This was the film on the marquis at the Trylon, the spring we moved to Forest Hills, in '77. Good thing I wasn't taken to see it, though...

I don't think this movie would be made today, with all the stupid, politically-correct crap in Hollywood and the current state of the middle east.
