Why go for the silvers on bradshaws when its piss easy to get the carp!? and there's alot better methods for getting silvers! like... Hmm, 1-2 foot standard rig, 16hook 4 elastic single double maggot and on that theres a good chance if you keep going at it the carp will move in too giving AMAZING sport on a 4!

Would have been about peg 10 pal.Does work with a rod and line but its harder to hook them.And you're right.Doing this with a lighter elastic gets you a lot more fish.But there's a lot of small carp stocked in lake 4 so had to bump it up a bit.Didn't want one of them trailing a rig for the sake of a quick vid

theres a problem with polish poachers who consider carp a delicacy .they take big lumps out for there dinner plate. a lake owner i know caught a group of them in the process of checking there illegal bait trap nets they lay overnight.

carp doesn't tend to be eaten anymore in the UK. It was the staple food of the Monks in monasteries in the 17th Century. Due to their 'muddy' taste (like a few other freshwater fish in the UK) no one eats them. We do however spends 1000s of minutes and 1000s of pounds a year trying to coax them out of the water and into our landing nets chinchin.

Never really thought of giving this method a name, my 8 yo son does it with a 4m whip, and can pull rudd all day long!

Only problem being random carp that take the maggot, but it all adds to the fun!

He has caught some nice fish this way, and it is a lot of fun
