I never knew about incubus until about a year ago, I don't see why people are so split on their change in sound. I personally enjoy this album and Make Yourself more than any of the earlier or later albums. It's just a change in taste, happens to the best of us.

@0MrRib0 i couldnt agree more! i loved how different this album was than their other albums, i was initially disappointed with the overall "softer" nature of this album but i quickly grew out of that and realized the brilliance of this album! the lyrics are absolutely brilliant on this album, and the music was cool as always with incubus! brandon boyd is obviously one of the most talented singers on the planet, a flawless voice!

I wasn't a fan of this song when I first brought the album back in 2004, stopped listening to Incubus for a bit after 2009, went through my CD collection yesterday evening, stumbled cross this album and instantly fell in love with this song and Incubus all over again haha!

crow didn't let me down, neither did light grenades (except earth to bella, ugh) but the new album was a disappointment for me. I like 6 songs on it, and i love about 4. still my favorite band tho. maybe its not that bad, they've just been so good to me for so long that by comparison, the new just doesn't do it for me.

Honestly, every Incubus albums has been different from one another, and that's why I like them so much. They aren't afraid of experimenting with their music and I think that's what has made them so successful along the years.

dude....whoever thinks the new album is a letdown or whatever....i just want to say...buy the album....after it gets released....i bet you would love to hear it again and again...let us appreciate what they do....i'm saying it because i also compose music...i started with making heavy and grunge music for the last five years....also some alternative riffs....now i'm learning piano and violin just to experiment with other genres....this is what's happening with the band now...experimentation!!!

No one denies the fundamental talent of the band, there are just some people who notice the huge departure from SCIENCE. The band decided to go a different way, and that's fine. The music is still excellent; it just isn't what some people have come to expect.

@BlackbirDA51 its nice to have an opinion, but thats really all it is. in my honest opinion, this is their best album. i just personally related to this so much more when it came out, both the lyrics and the feel of the album. its kind of an aquired taste and its really some of the most original and mind-opening stuff they've released, shrooms or not. :P

@j6alexander To be honest this is a good one, IMO, their last good album....Im siding with blackbird, give me their old shit. Make yourself is probably my favoirite album (listen to it on shrooms, youll understand). Summer romance, Deep Inside and Hot Dancer might be my favorite songs.

But i feel for ya, i was in HS when this album came out, soph year i think....oh man did i love this album, and i didnt do drugs back then. Definately was something i could relate to at the time

I really was not a fan of this song when ACLOTM came out, but it's grown on me. It's a very dark, haunting track. It reminds me of Crowded Elevator, which has been a longtime favorite of mine.

Wow, commented on this so long ago, brought me back to this song and it's still as good as I remember, I'd agree with you on the premise that Light Grenade doesn't exist for the sole purpose to break my heart, but in saying that, everything except Light Grenades gives me shivers when I listen to the majority of songs, especially Morning View, Enjoy Incubus and the A.O.L acoustic sessions.

@plus44fanatics I think the disappointment in Light Grenades for me came mostly from the fact that A Crow Left of the Murder, Morning View, and Make Yourself were all like greatest hits albums to me... I liked every single song on all of those albums, and that is so rare. I really do find things to appreciate about Light Grenades, and it is not a bad album at all (imo). Quite excellent really if I only look at my favorite tracks from the album. But the high expectations is what causes this.

@plus44fanatics By the way, I have been listening to the new album leak off and on for 2 weeks, and it is twice the letdown that Light Grenades was (for me). I authentically can say I just don't care for it at all. There are two tracks that I would keep and actually want to hear again, and they really aren't even that good to me. But once again, this is all related to personal taste. Some people think Light Grenades was the best and I don't doubt that some people will love the new album.

@jazzhart25 the newest album is a huge letdown, you're right. they completely changed their style and have abandoned the fanbase that fell in love with them years ago. they're a victim of the media that only makes one style of music popular. poppy, catchy riffs with repeating chorus'. all "good" rock songs have them and their just as boring as the next. what incubus did years back was special and and unique. pure genius on some levels. what happened to them was inevitable though.
