  • This absolutely helped me understand, Thank you Sir!

  • This is just like the class I take for this... A nap time story

  • I was able to nail subnetting from watching these videos over and over again. Brilliant

  • Great Vid. Its understandable if your coming from a Computer Science field

  • CCNA is VERY tough to learn, it's just about as hard as learning calculus math. Involves lots of segments, identifying networks, creating the actual IP's and breaking them up so the network can flow smoothly, and you have to understand the differences between hubs and switches i.e. switches break collision domains into separate networks while hubs does not even while splitting them. A good analogy is cable network that's on a shared network.

  • @Cavin21 Thats my college program. Funny stuff if your new at it.

  • @gundambob646

If you had to choose which is harder which would it be? I like really hard and challenging things, I'm like addicted to them.

  • @Cavin21 i'm a fan of the harder method. Only because it teaches you more. Also chances are you will come across that first.

  • my gf said she doesn't like CCNA

    she's now my ex gf.

    guys guys i'm kidding

    she's dead..

  • some people have talent.. thank you mate..

  • I sometimes come to these videos to help me sleep xD

  • A better quality ?? Thanks anyway :)

  • good

  • Very nice simple and educational.. am glad I got this link. Thx.

  • Numbaa !

  • He inadvertently equated 8 bits with 8 hosts, that's all.

  • No mistake,he is right, for class C network...support up to 254 hosts,cannot up to 255 or 256...

  • The video is good but good enough, he should explain briefly instead of just keep explaining about the octet, like he should explain computer only recognize 0 & 1 and 255 -->11111111(2 base) if we wanna reverse from 1 & 0 to 255 then we have to understand this : (1x2 power to 0) +(1x2 power to1)+(1x2 power to 3)....but he did not explain that....if for those beginners probably will get confuse...

  • it's rout, as in route, not root.. so it is said Route'R..

  • a rooter????? dont come down under and ask for a rooter , you may end up in questioning at the local police station, you see every part of the globe has a way of talking

  • Do i Have to be Communication engineer to get a job with ccna Or even ccnp ?? please help iam about to get exam And pay Its Money

  • on the 24 bit networking 8 bit host you said 16.7mil network and 8 hosts but you meant 256 hosts.

  • @bjvf82 Yep, it should be "last 8 bits - 256 hosts"...

  • we dont fucking care if its a rooter, and we dont fucking kiss the king's ass

  • @70rm3n70r: Seriously- get over yourself, and grow up...

  • @JeepITguy

oh, i hurt your brit feelings??

    go play with your rooter.

  • @70rm3n70r: checked a few of your videos out- looks like you have some good knowledge. Now, might you try acting like an adult?

  • Speaking of Rolling Stones, isn't a rooter that pose that Mick Jagger always likes to use?

  • Nice work, Cisco training videos are not as easy as they look to make. :)

  • rowter, rooter. Who cares?

  • when you were talking about the ivp4 32 bit address when at the end you said there would be 24bits for the subnets and 8 bits for the host you said there would be only 8 hosts on each where obviously there can be 254 hosts, i notice someone has commented on this as well

  • thanks alot for the upload

  • At LAST, somebody who calls them r-oo-ters.

  • 5:46 8 bit of host support 256 host ..

  • I just love the way he says "numbah".... :D

  • @Viniter24 Yeah totally lovely and try to listen which training facility he is working for? If anyone from India, will understand that "Panchotraining" LOL

  • where does he get the figures or stats from when he say 256 networks 16.7million hosts? or is it hypothetical? I'm just confused on that part

  • Well since the technology was created in the U.S., I would think that the pronunciation should be the U.S. pronunciation, not the U.K.s.

  • @JadedHawaiian The word Route was used way before the technology was created... IMO who the hell cares how someone pronounces it? Tomaaaatoes, TomAtoes same shyte.

  • @JadedHawaiian

since the language was created in the UK, I think that the pronunciation should be the UK pronunciation, not the U.S; the giveaway is the name, ENGLISH.

  • Ummmmm...ok? Who cares how the word "router" is pronounced, as long as we know what its purpose is with regard to networking, who cares?? Other than you, of course.

  • I've finally found a clear way to understand this messy stuff :) Best course ever!

  • If you need the first 3 mins of this video you shouldnt be studying CCNA just yet... xD

  • it's cisco training not English training.. geez do you have to make it big deal about rooter or router.. he got accent FFS! it's not like he type rooter

  • This dude is almost as good as he is on Top Gear

  • Thanks John. Was looking for such type of video desperately.

Keep up the great work.... Highly appreciated...

  • Numbah!

  • Mr john Mills, many thank you and respect for your excellent work!

    greece

  • thanks,!

  • /user/XICMI?feature=mhum#g/u

  • Hey Guys...I saw this was cool for ccna & ccnp preparation...

    make use of it....

    3w dot depacket dot com

  • hi john, thanks for this very useful information :)

  • At 5:49 narrator said: "...each one of which only supports eight hosts..."

this is wrong. revise, check and correct.

Video is boring. INE's ones are better. Odom's old video mentor is better.

Thank you very much for an effort, but could you, please, make it some other way? Like, talk to your audience, give some hints and tricks around the topic. Everyone is able to read the Exam guide. Add some value from your experience: you have your digits to prove you have it. Show it, not digits.

  • @askthebow I'm just learning binary and IP and I had to stop and think when he said the 8 hosts thing. Thanks for mentioning this, I feel a bit smarter now.

I'm checking out INE's videos( thanks for the comment!)

The whole "rooter = educated and rowter = uneducated (those outside the UK)" comment was pretty offensive & arrogant.

  • Mango FIsh Lor Lid :D

  • 32 people likes justin bieber

  • @TheCheesyFishy What the heck does this video have to do with that homo?!?!?

  • @TheCheesyFishy Stop mentioning his name

  • @TheCheesyFishy 38 couldn't triforce... can you ?

  • @TheCheesyFishy That's 38 now, 19 Justin fans and 18 lady gaga... the one we`re missing was probably just trollin...

  • thenks allah carem

  • Você é o cara, não sabia mecher bulufas com linux.. tinha uma entrevista de 2000, mas tinha que saber linux, e você me ajudou muito...Deus ilumine seu caminho !

  • "numbah"

  • Being a girl, the only issue I have is having the greeting as "guys." Everything else was perfect! ... nothing wrong with "root" boys!

  • the british way is probably the correct way but i still cringe everytime i hear him say router. i dont know why. btw i say root both ways depending on the situation. i say root66 and rowt66. i like the british way of saying aluminum, it just sounds like a superior material than the shit you make popcans out of. calling some1 a fuckwit will not stop me from watching any1, these r good videos.

  • ...thank you so much ... this video was really helpful for my first assignment this semester ...

  • THIS VIDEO SUBNETTING !!! There's more easy ways to explain it!!!

  • MISTER COATES IS A BOSS.

  • Hello Panchotraining.... regardless of all the unwanted things mentioned in comments below..really appreciate ur work and ..i find this video really really good and easy to understand.... keep up the good work

    thanks for uploading the video

  • On the test it's a router. I have always learn you study to the test and then when you pass you can do what you want. Obviously you passed but I have not so I will call it a router. Rest my case.

  • thanks it makes perfect sense what you say....

  • Guys,

I have to eventualy respond to those uneducated individuals ( those outside the UK) who insist in calling the device we all know and love a row-ter, as I am sure you are all well aware, the correct pronounciation is rooter. I can back this up with the rolling stones number pronounced " root 66" not "rowt 66". I rest my case. Bring on the Lions xxx

  • @panchotraining oy mate thanx for the training video it is really helping me a lot....I am doing my cisco next month 16th lol btw I say rooter =3

  • @panchotraining I always thought the Brits said 'rooter' to avoid confusion with the woodworking tool, which apparently is pronounced 'rowwter' in the UK.

  • @panchotraining ...because, of course, a couple of heroin shooting rock stars would certainly know the correct pronunciation of a word. Nice fail. As anyone who studies the English language knows, pronunciation is regional. Just because the those inside the UK can't pronounce it correctly, doesn't mean everyone else who does is wrong.

    Anyway, great video. Thanks.

  • @panchotraining with respect it's ROUTER, but I agree with you bout uneducated individuals, you have to eventually respond to them. you've shown good tutorial and giving us useful information. keep it up!

  • @panchotraining Have you heard of mame? Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator? M.A.M.E. pronounced 'maim' (as in the verb to hurt/injure v. badly). Mame as in same, name , game, dame etc. But the S.K.s always pronounce it 'Mam - maye'. Ahhh....so annoying. To me ages to understand what the 'techie' guy was talking about. Ah...'MAME!' etc. You should hear them say the word 'Tennis' or 'Television' or 'Orange'. So annoying. The U.S. aren't the only ones. Good videos BTW. Thx helped a lot. I hear you.

  • @panchotraining

    Don't be a jacka**. I would say rowt 66.

  • @panchotraining i'm all for correct pronunciation there are 2 things first of all, since the router was invented in the US it seems proper to say it the way we do - it is respectful if nothing else - for instance if I am saying somebody else word I try to say it correctly for instance (a non technical example) iraq (ir-roc and not I-rack). Secondly English and American English diverged some time ago and um we bailed you out in WWII so least you can do is say ROWT-er :) Great Vids though.

  • @Teclis98

typical american crap bring up how you helped us in the war pfff.... theres a lot of stuff you americans do like invading other countries and expecting us to back you up

  • @KPhoenix2001 OH IT'S ON NOW! - the second reason was tongue in cheek how would you brits say it... i'm a cheeky fellow? But let us not contrast WWII with Iraq because first there is no real comparison and second I thought Iraq was a criminal waste of manpower and resources so just like I don't assume all brits are arrogant and have bad teeth don't assume all american's love the Iraq war. JUST SUBMIT! and say router the way we do because the alternative sounds really jarring to me at least :)

  • @Teclis98 lol fair enough oh and just for the record I like american cars over ours lol

  • @Teclis98 I'm American and even I think this is a bunch of shit.

People can speak however they want to. Stop being so full of yourself. I doubt you were in WW2 to say who did what. I doubt anyone that fought in the war did it so you could brag about how they "bailed out" another country.

This is a video about Cisco routers which had nothing to do with WW2.

I get so embarrassed when other Americans start talking shit about other countries. Grow up!

  • @strakallah Damn can nobody read? It was TONGUE IN CHEEK - yes the pronunciation there-in seems disruptive to my ear and that is in no way a crime i was just ribbing them a little not making a demand Jesus - the WWII comment was in total jest i had simply said say it the way we say it because we invented the device and it is respectful to say it the way we do, would have come off as asshole-ish if i didn't have a second light hearted non serious item to list - get over yourself.

  • @strakallah " I get so embarrassed when other Americans start talking shit about other countries. Grow up! " Why? ...

  • @panchotraining how someone pronounces a word has nothing to do with mental aptitude you fucking clown

  • @panchotraining Well using the same logic, FOOD and GOOD should be pronounced similiarly yet they are not in any form of english. Gewd and Fewd or Gud and Fud.

  • @panchotraining Really? Does it matter THAT much. I know what you are talking about, say is potato or patato. Tomato or tamato. I know what you mean. A lot of great information here and people are squabbling about petty language differences. Really? Give it a rest already. Lets talk IP...

  • If we really want to get technical, we have to get back to the basics of the English language. I mean no offense to the English people, but we have the same problem here in America, "no one don't know shit". Let us pronounce the word router. We have the letter "r" no objection, "o" which, arguably could be pronounced "o" or "ow", but for panchos benefit I defer to him. But the real player is the "u". This makes the "r'oo'-ter into a "ro"u"t"e"r" or ro-ooter. more easily pronounced rowter.

  • @panchotraining Hey, love the video. Just saw your comment and had to let you know that here in the U.S. (where REAL English is spoken haha), "row" is pronounced with a long "o" as in "Michael your boat ashore ..." -- "o" as in "know" or "toe." LOL!

  • @panchotraining I would like to point out that there are plenty of very well educated individuals here in the USA. The only trouble is that when you pronounce an English word correctly in the USA bunch of people say something along the lines of "Didn't you mean to say rowter?". Still, there are plenty of Americans who have respect for the language and where it came from. Thank you for the video and for enforcing proper English pronunciation.

  • @panchotraining quote "I have to eventualy respond to those uneducated individuals ( those outside the UK)"

ur arrogance and ur sarcarsm are as big and as lame respectively as ur belly...

  • @DrakyGordon i would agree except you are defending yourself, proving your not uneducated using "ur." This is only acceptable in text messages on your phone and not even then when you are proving that you are educated.

  • @escasey88 are u sure this is only acceptable in text messages? by being so petty, u are proving urself to be a wannabe...this is just youtube comments..not a resume letter or an email to a customer....u dickhead!!

  • @DrakyGordon This is youtube. Not a normal situation occurs on youtube where you are in grave danger and require word and grammar shortcuts. You have time to waste, since you are on youtube. Therefore, you DON'T need to use txt language. There is plenty of time to type out a word. Whether you are a fast typer or not. I can type an average of 97WPM. Typing out a word is no ultimate task.

  • @TheRaelykSky if you think i have time to waste coz i am in youtube then what are you doing here....dun argue for the sake of arguing...argue only if the argument brings about something beneficial to one or another...my sincere advice for you and ppl like you...

  • @DrakyGordon I have plenty of time to waste. I don't argue for the sake of the argument. And this is beneficial to you. I am telling you that you 'dun' need to sound like the BIGGEST FUCKING RETARD on the internet when have the time to spell out your words. You are on youtube because you aren't busy and have time to waste. Don't waste it by acting like an uneducated idiot. You can have fun, while being smart about.

  • @DrakyGordon My sincere advice, to you, and to people like you.

  • @escasey88 You typed "i" and not "I" therefore you yourself are uneducated.

  • @panchotraining A song? lol I agree everyone has different way of saying things not everyone says every word the same. But don't assume your pronunciation is the correct one around the globe. Router is pronounced rowter in here in the US other places I have vistied it is pronounced rooter.

  • @panchotraining "toemaytoe" "toemoto"...lol

  • @panchotraining merriam webster lists both as acceptable pronunciations, row-ter and root-er (i looked up the root word route) and another online dictionary had 'router' that seemed to list both pronunciations for that word specifically. great video btw, im planning on getting my ccna within the next few months

  • @panchotraining I just thought I would add this because I am outside the UK and I am educated.

Here is what webopedia web dictionary has as the correct pronunciation-(row´ter) (n.) A device that forwards data packets along networks

  • @panchotraining Good way to show your superior education, by speaking as if you are above others. (Must be a UK thing)

  • @panchotraining My "uneducated" opinion: If you're speaking British Eng., fine you're right. However, here in the USA, we speak American English, & we say router. It all depends on the spoken language. American Eng. and British Eng. are too dissimilar for this argument. It's like comparing radio using Spanish & English, same letters, but pronounced differently. To further cement this, try saying "about", unless you're Canadian, you're saying 'about' not 'aboot' same with gout, trout, and out.

  • @panchotraining >Yfw you realize that Router can be said both "R-ow-ter" and "Roo-ter".

    Only Eurofaggots pronounce it Roo-ter.

I do hope that you have enjoyed your lesson today, and please come back to the troll train soon!

  • @panchotraining LOL, for uknown reasons I've always thought the correct pronunciation was the one you suggest. However, I've always been "coached" and kindly asked to pronounce it the wrong way.

  • @panchotraining instead of referencing a doped up band from the 60's, why not use a dictionary? The dictionary shows you both pronunciations of the word..... Geez we are so uneducated here in the states....

  • At mark : 5:22 if splitting 32 bits into 16 and 16 we'll have 65536 networks, and 65536 of hosts, but right after that, splitting 32 bits into 24 and 8 why should we have 8 hosts only rather than 256 ?

  • @KoalPilot That was a mistake .. It should be 256

  • Hi dearz

mcse, mcitp, lunux, ccna and ccnp vouchers for sale with 40% off, give exam first then pay, for more details contact

  • @panchotraining the spelling is pronunciation n not pronounciation

  • Lots of laughs, I totaly agree with you about the shirts but I,m a lot shorter than JC

    P. S lot slimmer now with new shirts

  • This bloke reminds me of jeremy clarkson and could really do with some bigger shirts.

  • It would make more sense if you did not rush..You seem to be giving plenty of examples but need to spend more time explaining more. The binary numbers and how you came to an ip address did not make any sense to me. I understand 32 bits and dividing by 4 etc. But the numbers you came up with from the binary. Please explain how you arrived at these numbers. I applaud the attempt to explain this stuff.

  • great job!

  • i like this accent, i hate listening to those nerdy american voices

  • Do companies have to buy Class D for vidoeconferecing or similar needs?

  • If you cry babies want to nit pick at a free tutorial then why dont you just dig deep and pay for the official exam certification guide.

  • Ijin nyimak gan

  • Err

  • great tutorial almost 5 moth i am trying to learn juts afew min i got

  • Very nicely done. Great refresher.

  • @ den15b actually he did not "fuck up". As a teacher he did the right thing. Its easier to introduce the concept first and then fine tune it later. Get the concept across to the student first and once he/she understands THEN you can add later - well actually its 254 hosts because one address is reserved as the broadcast address and the other ends with a zero. A host address cannot end with a zero. This guy knows exactly what he is doing. He is pretty good.

  • Depending if the i.p address is A,B,C

  • my college lecturer is a CCNA instructor

  • this is great, thank you so much, pay no mind to the idiots.

  • sux my balls like net faglord

  • god damn boring

    zzzz.zzzzzzzzz

  • Thanks sir i wish guys like you were in my country :-(

  • How is the implementation of IPv6 going to change everything? I am thinking in a few years all this will be obsolete and IPv4 will only be taught for educational purposes without any real use in the work place.

  • like this...

  • thanks thats really helpful

  • you shouldn't call it an octet - even though it has 8 bits. you should call it a quartile, because its 1/4 (8) of the total 32 bitz.

  • Excellent Video by starting off with the basic.

Thanks a lot in advance !

  • Thanks! very helpful

  • this guy is a pro

  • Is there anyone taking the CCNA course? Please need some help. Thank you

  • bastante claro, seguire este tutor, pura vida.!

  • some question arise in mind regarding IP, I watched videos related to CCNA and got the information about CCNA, but could not test that whether I be able to attempt certification exam confidently or not... then I come to know about a solution,

To watch that please visit my channel, you'll really amazed to see that.

  • Thanks for the Great Tutorial (:

  • Thanks for the training vids. I used these as well as the CCNA manual I got from ciscoccnaforfree( . )com and just passed yesterday. Hope you all have as much luck as me.

  • this is an awesome tutorial

  • Thanks for this great tutorial. I am studying this now and your videos help me out a lot! My goal is to someday get to CCIE!

  • "Rooter"?

    It's "Router"! RAU-TER!

    Lol! Say it right!

  • @StraightOuttaDC This is how it's pronounced over here in the UK! He's English if you haven't noticed!

  • @musicarena1

I'm only kidding, man! Jeez! You Brits need to lighten up.

  • @StraightOuttaDC I'm not a man by the way :p

  • /24 subnet support only 8 hosts LOL... Somebody should help this man correct his error...

  • lol.... should be 252 right?

  • 254...2 to the 8th minus 2....

  • correction... 255..lol

  • @gary031183 - 254 because you cant have a host with all zero id, but yes, you are essentially correct.

  • Comment removed

  • @widwip 8 *bits* means the numbers 0-255 can be counted, leaving 254 addresses. Dummy.

  • This stuff interests me. oh god!

  • @5:48 last example of IP varible hosts - '...supports 8 hosts' ? !!! should this not be 254 hosts? - Regards Johnny

  • 2 to the power of 8 is 256 - 2 = 254 usable hosts, so you are correct, he fucked up, but being a teacher, he probably got it mixed up with the power of the last octet which is 8.

  • I said POTENTIAL ADDRESSES fuckwit! Read on

  • @panchotraining Great video dude, I appreciate your hard work and effort you've put in for us who are currently studying. Thank you. * * * * *

  • @panchotraining lmao

  • @panchotraining calling someone "f***wit is not any way to get customers. nonetheless about as unprofessional as one can get.

  • @panchotraining - what a moron comment...you've just lost a lot of business with that one. :P
