It's not all taking out choppers with .50s and picking head off with sub-sonic munitions, mate, I have not personally go through the US sniper experience, but I can tell you that you have been playing too much video game, sniper is like little virus, they slip in, get the intel, and they get out, rarely do they even open fire, and unless you can tolerate proning and staying still for up to 5 hours consecutively, I'd say you better off being Marine.

they use ghillie suits for whatever environment they are in. Usually they they go into their missions with their ghilie suits only have made and then stuff the rest of their netting with vegetation from their mission area.

The things that it is with bf2, is that you only have a set time to kill as many people as possible, real sniping aint like that.

I am a sniper in the Australian Army currently and theres a big difference between a rifleman and a sniper let alone the pretenders and the real deal, I play video games also as it is a good way to develop hand eye coordination and is suggested to recruits in the Corps so that bolt action rifles are not too difficult to use and that the action remains smooth without you having to look at anything other than down your scope. Video games will never be anywhere as realistic as real life.

i'd say snipers arnt ment to take large amounts of lives there are elite and trained to attack a certain target like a leader,commander ect there also used for moral if your the enemy and you commander drops dead and a second later you hear only 1 gunshot your gonna get your head down and keep it down then you send in the basic marines its also a morale thing for the marines if they know that an expert is up in the hills looking down on them protecting them it will make them feel alot safer
