And as far as the rock himself is concerned. I believe that everyone knew he had the potential to become an actor and I think his decision to not be referred to as the rock in hollywood was so he can be dwayne johnson the actor. Actors have many characters and the rock just happens to be one of the characters he has played(of course that is his most well known role). But just because he had a point where he did not want to wrestle again doesnt make him a messed up person. It makes him human.

Never say never. I doubt very much he'll ever wrestle regularly again, but for special occasions, he could easily go back. I mean, he seems healthy, no serious injuries, and he's still fairly young and in good shape. There's no reason he couldn't show up now and then if he wanted to.

I can see why he doesn't want people to call him The Rock when he's not wrestling anymore. Sure he's been having embarrassing moments in movies lately but he's not even ashamed to show it because he's confident and wants to experiment with other types of movies. @jimmy212145 ...i'm with you. i don't get the hate-on people have for cena. i remember his debut match with kurt angle where they made him the clean cut former marine and the guy CAN wrestle quite technically sound. the clean cut marine thing just didn't work for him so now he has a gimmick, which he pulls off quite nicely. i have yet to read a report of him injuring anyone in the ring-that requires him to really know what he's doing.

i don't know where people get the idea that the rock turned his back on wrestling or whatever; he's always made appearances one way or another over the years, but has just turned his attention towards films. he knows where he came from and how he got his break; that's why whenever vince calls him and says "hey we could use you on the show this week" he goes.

He accomplished all he had to in professional wrestling, and he decided to try something new. Half the wrestlers you see now will 'move on' when they're too old to perform, but Dwayne did in four years what 99% of pro wrestlers couldn't do in a lifetime.

Never say never. I doubt very much he'll ever wrestle regularly again, but for special occasions, he could easily go back. I mean, he seems healthy, no serious injuries, and he's still fairly young and in good shape. There's no reason he couldn't show up now and then if he wanted to.

I can see why he doesn't want people to call him The Rock when he's not wrestling anymore. Sure he's been having embarrassing moments in movies lately but he's not even ashamed to show it because he's confident and wants to experiment with other types of movies. He didn't ditch his wrestling persona, he just put it aside so that his glorious years as a main event wrestle doesn't clash horribly with his somewhat mediocre acting profile with Disney studios.
