He is dead in ME2 PS3, so if you import your save to ME3 PS3, he will not be there. Its totally ridiculous IMO. I played both ME1 and ME2 on the PC and I gotta say, ME2 & ME3 on the PS3 is missing a lot. Many characters from ME1 didn't appear in ME2 PS3 such as Conrad Verner (Also Captain Kirrahe).

I am replaying the first game right now, and i have to say I dont give a shit about having a stock of 12 Avenger III or 2 Phoenix human light armor. The inventory system in ME1 was abusive and boring, throwing hundred of useless item to convert into omni-gel or sell to the quartermaster for almost no gain. The upgrade system of ME2 was a little bit shallow, but damn each gun did have his own personnality and kick.

In ME1,we chased a menace.In ME2, we built a team to prevent a menace.In ME3....IT'S THE WAR.Of course Mass Effect isn't suppose to be a TPS,and we can't agree the lost of RPG's element,but if the story and the background is as good as the first and the second game...god i will forget the gameplay.It was what happen with Mass Effect 2,and,with hope, it will happen for Mass Effect 3

While I agree ME2 cut a lot of features, it is still a good game. I wish the gameplay would have stayed like ME1, but it was too fringe.  The gameplay of ME3 will especially appeal to the MW3 crowd because of the "sci-fi shooter" multiplayer. Maybe if their successful enough they make an MMO and then we get what we want.

You do all of the optional side-quest as you storm Saren's hide out (I.e: destroying the geth refueling station, just turning off the alarms in Saren's hide out instead of turning them on on Kirrahe's side, etc.).

@joshuaarias100 I did the same thing on my 2nd character, but the thing is that in Mass Effect 2 the game doesn't really know if you saved him or not, you need to use an updated version on Gibbed's Mass Effect editor to let the game know that you saved Captain Kirrahe and his team, doing that will grant you with a message from the captain right after you recruit Mordin, he thanks you again for saving him on Virmire and even tells you that he wanted to help you to investigate the attacks on the -

What's funny is that Mordin doesn't like that phrase "hold the line" and in ME2, he's got the lowest "Hold the Line" rating. This rating/number is added together with your other team mates in the rear position during the final boss to determine if someone dies.

@c130ace it's not a bug because the team member was sent with another team besides Kirrahe's team so yeah it is possible no matter what but the major one to keep alive is right before you enter a building you either shut down the alarms and send them to the Salarians or just shut down the alarms and handle the guards yourself
