@mainlymusician it's called ad-sense the multi billion dollar solution for targeted advertising. My local university's history of marketing has a 80% weight on ad-sense and derivatives... basically google invented advertising the way it is today and by accessing their webpage you are a customer. Google maps is like the worlds biggest yellow/white pages

When it boils down to it it seems about 5% of the Phd's out there actually yield something worthwhile. Give some middle-of-the-road college kids some jobs and let collective creativity do the job these inflated egos can't seem to sort out. Just like Microsoft, the only place Google will excel is in its acquisitions. An overrated, one-trick pony.
