  • DAMN IT! the sound is broken!

  • It's too bad the sound's not working after a certain point :(

  • Bill just take the gifts and run. A fine gigilo

  • "Shut up, I'm rich!"

  • Timeless!

  • God william holden looks fine that suit!

  • William Holden was one sexy-hot man!

  • MMMM a Sugar MOMMMMa

  • Shuddup, I'm rich, I've got a million dollars.

    yeah!! :D

  • Yes. I do want Valentino. I admit it. I do not want William Holden.

  • what's with you and "cunt'?

Bad word. Stop before someone calls You that.

  • I disagree, I think she was perfect for this part in every way, each actor they picked was brilliant. Her background gives her perfect qualification for the role, and even the theme of the movie matches up wonderfully. Her performance at the ending is absolutely breath taking and one of the most memorable in all of cinema history.

  • scarlett the overacting is the whole point, in silent movies they overacted and she played an ex silent movie star who is stuck in her acting ways

  • Precisely, harlow. Norma Desmond didn't know where the movie ended and real life began. Everything she did was outsized, to make up for her pictures being silent. Those who think there could be a more subtle and nuanced Norma just don't "get" Norma.

  • i was kinda freaked out afterwords :) when she cut her wrists

  • you can watch the rest of this great great movie here:

  • he better watch out for the cigarette as she is very expansive with her hand gestures.

This lady has no idea of reality for years and what we don't know until the end is that her husband is the butlr played by Erich Von Stroheim who is also FABULOUS in this film!

  • I own this movie on DVD, yet I still watch clips when I run across them, lol. Wonderful movie!

I also love when she says "Do you want me to tell you?" Ha! And William Holden was an absolutely gorgeous, if reluctant, gigilo!

  • I had to watch it last night again love it!

  • what a sordid tale, but so truistic to Hollywood, then and maybe now too. Well written, and acted to the hilt. Gloria and Bill shone. Thanks.

  • i love when she says "you want me to tell you?" ;D

  • yes

  • Swanson was and still is SUPREME!!!!

  • The first choice for Norma Desmond was Mae West..

  • mae west is not suitable at all for this role

  • I agree, Only Gloria Swanson could of pulled it off, One GREAT movie.

  • That's not Mae West. It's Gloria Swanson. Mae West was offered the role, but turned it down.

  • i know its not Mae West. I only replied to tarquin, Love.

  • At 1:04 the sound cuts out! What a disappointment. Time to buy the DVD!

  • I love Norma Desmond!!

  • Movies are better in black and white.

  • i love gloria swanson!!

  • I'm SO devastated that your video freezes at 1:04!

I was so excited to have run across this clip from one of my all-time beloved movies...

I was thinking how appropriate it would be to post on my MySpace page for the New Year being that it portrays the New Year's Eve scene.

I'm so bummed now to find out it doesn't work.... =[

  • I love this movie

  • one of the best movies ever made . thanks so much

  • One of my all-time favorites ... what rich dialogue and performances!
