Well I can see many comments that Frech version is better and English is not as good as the original one. But...in my opinion - I LOVE english version and it's because of Tina -mainly.Helene is perfect. But Tina...Tina is a miracle! She has the most beautiful voice I've heard in the last time and I don't care about the translation. I think the lyrics are pretty well done and in this version is Garou and Bruno -that's the important fact for me :} Don't get me wrong,I love french version as well
Does anyone have the lyrics for this? And about downloading this song, it's easy to use an application called DVDVideoSoft Free Studio. Thanks to this ya can download whole video or just the sound, depends on your preferences.
i'm not too fond of this song in either French or English, nor any other Language... I feel it's a bit empty in terms of lyrics and meaning... I find it kind of lets down the rest of the songs, this one just isn't as thrilling and engrossing; it's repetitive and, frankly irritating.
Yeah, there are, but they wouldn't fit with the music if they were used. Even if they were, this song still wouldn't be anything as good as its original French version. It's kinda sad, really. I'm suprised the English writers couldn't think of any beautiful, poetic words for the songs of this musical I've seen so far.
This translation is not correct. In addition these girls are good but not good enough it feels like they wer trying too hard and it sounds unrealistic
This seems too harsh, the translation isn't as good as the rest of the musical, but it could be much worse, I just think the song could be softer and warmer
I'll always love original French version with all my heart but usually I am also opened for other interpretations but this one is terrible.
This song sounds magical in French and even if I usually care only for male voices;) I really loved 'Beau comme le soleil'. Segara's & Zenatti's voice created beauiful entirety, it was a pleasure for listener.
Umm....I don't really care for this version at all - I think the lyrics are my least favorite in the English translation - and while they both have beautiful voices, I will always be biased toward Helene Segara's interpretation, and I have a very hard time believing Natasha St. Pierre is 14 years old :lol
I know she's not - but in the musical in Ces Diamants-La Fleur-de-Lys says "my 14 summers are for you." I was just holding them to their faulty ages ;)
The singer for Fleur-de-lys was actually 14 when she auditioned. Making a musical takes time though, so she was 16 or so when they started performing it.
@EponineJavert I thought Natasha was 18 when she replaced Julie, not 14. I believe you're thinking of Julie Zenatti who auditioned for NDdP at 15. Regardless, I think that both Julie and Natasha are actually the same age.
I would think French should be better in this case because it's the language of the original. Don't get me wrong, I love Italian, I just thought it would logically sound best in French.
I dunno about this...I have nothing against the translation...I've heard worse, but I think neither of their voices suit this song. It all sounds a little forced.
I don't think that the translation is THAT bad...worse than the origianl of course...it's just that I'm not used to this song being sung soo loudly...In my opinion neither Natasha nor Tina do this song justice...Tina is sooo much better in Vivre ("Live for the one I love"), just not in this song
Natasha may be wrong for this one, but she's so perfect for Your Heart if You Will Swear. It's just not meant to be so ...fluffy, like the original's voice provides. Plus she seems to do the same movements constantly, and it's annoying.
Personally I really love both versions, but the French Fleur is soooooooo much better than the English one

The translation is so off because they need to change words to make sure the lyrics still rhyme and everything.
That said, yeah, it just doesn't really work.

This translation is inaccurate. Half the time they are talking about how he is a solider of the king...
