I can't blame him for saying that: the movie was seriously flawed (even though I can totally picture Hollywood executives finding the whole novel, and especially Kit's horrifying downfall as too cruel and hallucinatory for the audience's tastes)
I haven't really thought about it very well, but off the top of my head, I think David Fincher would really come up with a nice take on Up Above The World. Of course I'm envisioning an updated version of it, but just as strange and bleak
