@CARBONHAWK1 I read that the new GT2 RS was only anounced in May of 2010. It has a "claimed" Nurburgring time of 7:18 which is why I believe the hp number are increased of the previous years. Like I said before compared to the GT2 for the money second place isn't bad, but second is still second. The fun to drive factor is missing from the GTR (me personally). The GTR is really only considered competition at the track where the computer does 80% of the work and the AWD does 19%.

So I'm not sure if you did your research or not but it needs to start taking on the 530hp GT3 now because the new GT2 may not be able to be stopped. Yes it will have a faster 0-60 time than the GT2 but that may be it. But for the price of the GT2 second place for the GTR isn't to bad lol.

I do like the fact because of the competition both car makers are raising the bar but rich people will buy a 911 over nissan and the sales show just that. Also owning a gtr is actually a lot more expensive to keep than a 911, a lot more heavier than 911, the performance unusable, and gtr has no character. If I couldnt buy a new porsche but could buy 370z money I would rather get a used porsche which would still be faster and better than 370z. I would lie if I said that the badge doesn't matter but for everyday I drive japenese car not mercedes or bmw for reason like reliability, bang for the money and low profile. The Porsche is a real driver's car.

I hope Porsche never follow into Nissan's or Ferrari's footsteps with the tech fests that are the GTR and the new Italia.
Hopefully there's more to come and the GT2 RS was not the last macho Porsche.
