This is the rue meaning of virtuosic playing, Unlike much of the crap that's on youtube. This guy never fails to astound me. Great tone, even better power, and an amazing sense of musicality. A true genius of the Spanish guitar.
@badtotilaboy you make no sense how is it not a malaguena, malaguena is derived from a style of flamenco in Malaga one of the many styles, such as soleares, bulerias, seguiriyas, sevillanas, etc malaguena is a set of musical falsetas that come from malaga, such as bulerias form jerez de la frontera and fandangos from huelva, learn some things before saying anything.
Goryachev has the fastest tremolo I ever heard and I've seen Sabicus, Montoya and Segovia. and have their records. This man's tremolo is on a level of his own. LIs arepeggios are also like lightning.
I love all you retards fighting over who is a better guitar player. I bet none of you have a 1/4 of the skills as Grisha. Sabicas would be proud to hear him play his music.
@spruceorcedar The same right you exercise when you imply that I am jealous of a man who plays pieces by great flamenco guitarists note for note as though he is playing a transcribed classical guitar piece. That is not flamenco. Did I not write that he is a great guitar player? Being a great guitar player in a flamenco style does not make one flamenco. I may not be flamenco myself, but that is a different story.
@TheTocaor as someone who is dedicated to his passion and love for the art, being totally obsessed that he lives, eats, and breathes by it. Wouldn't you give some credit for the man who is just honest and sincere in playing his music? His heart speaks flamenco and thus that's what he always plays. Good music will always be good music. He may never be a Spaniard (if you think Spaniards, only have the right to be good flamenco players) but any one could play flamenco.
I think that what tocaor means is about the living musicform flamenco that is always under the influence of changes, personal or fashion. I agree that anyone is allowed to live flamenco, but as soon as you fix pieces in their notes, it becomes a classical approach, not changeable, not alive. I love Grisha by the way, but I would like to see him doing accompaniment of singing and dancing, improvising and composing his own story in flamenco.
the reason it sounds like it is because malaguena is a dance with a specific rhythm and meter (like bulerias, alegrias, etc..) not an original title specific to a single piece. In other words, this is a malaguena
@gerundino98 what's that supposed to mean when you say it's wasted on youtube? sure there are plenty of metal head idiots who come across this and think their music is as technical as it gets....just let the idiots be idiots!
derfeuerbote you don't know nothing about grisha Goryachev he became a master at a young age. the guy even played with paco de lucia who do you know that plays with the legend paco? this guy has played shows world wide. Can you play like him i don't think so he is gifted at what he does. is amazing obviously you don't listen to classical, flamingo so don't even comment bad about somebody, whos been playing for years. let us see your classical playing, i bet you can't even play a chord loser!
wait................WTF? i just got internet again, then I see this.... so what happened again? Why ate you biting at me? Don't let me be misunderstood, I kinda knew what you said 'bout grisha already cuz I looked him up alot. But when &where did I say something bad about this master? I haven't said I don't like anyone. I hope that's clear cuz i look up to grisha here and I don't have time to deal w/ this
yes he' s much better than I,.... but... I can play a chord or two =P paz y amor!
I like the way he plays =] it gives it a touch of classical maybe? and works with dynamics. I'll admit, I'm not about flamenco all the way, so this may be why I find this man to be my favorite, perhaps even more favorite than paco de lucia.
Some of his covers sound real close to the original, with just a few changes, like the Farruca (Con Garbo y Salero). But really, I've never heard the original to a lot of the pieces he plays. Like this one.
Just so you guys know, I'm trying to figure this one out by ear just like Grisha did so if anyone wants to help, hit me up! =P YI got about a minute and so many seconds in, look in Ultimate Guitar for the guitar pro file under Sabicas =]
Hardly, his technique is completely different. I'll not go into sound because it's not fair to compare recording made with a cam to those that are 50 years old. But from his technique I can tell that he will and does sound different, I'm not saying he doesn't have admirable skill though. But his picado is different from sabicas's, that's a fact.
Well, Sabicas died when he was an old man; I am pretty sure it took him an awful amount of time to get his chops down the way he did. I just stated that he is Sabicas's Resurrection is because he looks somewhat like Sabicas, I didn't say it because of his technique or anything of the sort. His technique could be compared to that of Paco De Lucia.... or that of mine for that matter. LOL.
I was talking about his technique, if you analyse the picado technique from both artists(the single note playing with his index and middle finger) you can see that grisha uses the entire finger where both Paco de Lucia as well as Sabicas play by moving mostly the 2nd joint in their fingers. This creates a different sound which sounds a lot brighter. So his technique actually can't be compared to either Paco or Sabicas.
ni eso es si una malagueña nina sera un guiri ke las koas komo son es un orgullo mu grande saber k fuera de nuestro pais se siente nuestra kultura pero pixa te lo igo yo k soi de malaga y eso no es una malagueña en kondi
i think music like this should be put into guitar hero games. it teaches people real music. not just stuff you rock out to. and plus a song like this would be so fun to play
i have, i was sticking up for this players performance, people were saying it lacks feel and warmth, i merely stated that maybe it was the recording that made it sound cold and heartless NOT the players performance! now, are you going to apologize or shall we meet up and you knock me out?
Though I understand this view I think it is, in practice, a little ridiculous. To say one can only criticise when they have superior skill is rather outlandish. I am sure many of Goryachev's teachers have actually been worse guitarists than him; it is possible to have no practical understanding of a guitar and yet still have a prodigious understanding of guitar music. Otherwise you would have to conclude that a conductor may only conduct if he can play every instrument in his orchestra. xXx

Another"Gringo" with his pseudo flamenco. His picado is rapid but needs more attack, very bland playing ,no louds and softs like real flamenco music should have, will have a lot of success with those who do not know better.
As much as I like his technique I have to agree :(. He doesn't go crazy in any of his videos I've seen, it's always pretty even and though I certainly think he has the passion, he doesn't show it. I don't mean his expressions, I couldn't care less about his facial expression, I mean the whole playing style, just not very passionate. It's very clean and clear. When he finally starts going a bit "crazy" and loud, he extinguishes it right away.
Why, why, WHY do you criticize? It is music... and it is everyone's, not YOURS. You sound threatened. "Gringo", "Pseudo flamenco" is condescending language. I'm sure the Arabs(Moors) felt the same way when the Spanish played their music, which is the origin of flamenco. Pendejos!
Flamenco has been influenced more by gypsies than moorish music...I'm spanish, and by the way "gringo" is more of a mexican word than a word used in Spain, it's not that common over here. And it does not have a racial meaning like it does in Mexico.
in mexico is use the word "gringo" because the people are ignorant, like me, and not only with the other conuntrys, with own people too, this happen in th start of the nacion, and it will happend in the end

Spaniards are actually white you know. Their skin is just tanned

in mexico is use the word "gringo" because the people are ignorant, like me, and not only with the other conuntrys, with own people too, this happen in th start of the nacion, and it will happend in the end
