Nice. Im glad i get to see GP9's and GP10's almost everyday because of the local shortline. They are all Ex.Conrail and ICG's though. Before Conrail Penn Central and PRR. THe ICG Ones im not sure about. And theres one old NKP but all in the WInchester & Western Paint. You can see them on my channel
I have a former N&W P5 an a Southern P5 but my God these RS5T horns are great I forgot N&W used these on the GP9s this is one horn I have yet to aquire
@Petemonster62 yes, they only had very few car body diesels that they got through mergers, most N&W passenger trains were powered by road switchers ,the reason is they didnt start buying diesels till later, because they held on to steam so long.the last Y6b operated in may 1960, by this time the hood unit{roadswitchers} were all the rage!

Need some grease in the tripod?

@randommagnum I don't use this one anymore. I have a new one which is ten times better than the old one. :)

Good, well I still drive it every once in a while you have to be a volunteer first with the museum in order to do it.

@m611martin
You need to stop that tripod from making that noise. Also I have driven that locomotive 2x now. xD

@npadul30 Haha, yeah. I've got a new tripod and a new camera. Cool. :D I bet it was a great experience.

From what I understand, didn't the N&W use roadswitcher diesels on its passenger trains after retiring the Class Js and other steamers in 1959?

In 1:11-1:13 there seems to be a steam engine in the background blowing it whistle, or is there some other reason?
m53dy9 1 year ago
@m53dy9 That was Flagg Coal Company 0-4-0T #75's whistle you heard.
