I get what y'all are saying and in most ways I do agree, but just FYI Justin Timberlake was not the first person to sing this song, yes he made it popular in our generation, but it was written in 1953 and sang by legend jazz/blues artist Ella Fitzgerald. Just trying to keep some perspective.
Thats not shining Jesus's light. I agree he is accepting Justin Timberlakes songs. If it aint glorifying Jesus of Nazereth who bled for us I want no part in it. I wasted my life listening and singing my heart out with them they consume you I even sang a song by a band named A Perfect Circle bashing against God so when you all think it wont hurt to sing one of thse songs next thing you know you will be singing with Marilin Manson and A Perfect Circle bashing God on a daily basis like I did.
It's like saying that you condone their lifestyle. Especially someone like Justin, who is all about sex, the sexiness, being sexy, and condoning sex before marriage, and then selling that to kids! You ever wonder how many kids have listened to him, and wanted to be him, or do those things? Google Justin Timberlake sex lyrics, and find out how many of his songs talk about sex, and then think of how many young teen, and pre-teen minds he's fed that vile thinking to. Just sayin'....
Not judging, but I will never understand why Christian artists insist on doing secular covers, and giving those secular artists glory. Honestly, you could be performing that song in front of someone who has never heard of the person who originally recorded it, they ask about it, find out who it was, buy the c.d., and then you've contributed to glorifying the lifestyle that those secular artists live. Every time we buy one of their c.d.'s we're giving them money to live their decadent lifestyles.
@RobShu I dont think they are neccesarilly giving the secular artists "glory". There is nothing wrong with singing a secular song. It's just kind of allows people to let loose for a bit. There aren't any confindes(sp) in a Christian concert. Now as far as buying there cd and supporting that secular artists lifestyle, that's part of the country we live in. Not only in the freedom of theUSA, but in the freedom we have in Christ to make our own decision and live a life hopefly plezing 2 him.
