  • dear doctor who: never ever end

  • I want the sheet music for this song. Does anyone know where I can get it?

  • @arcuesfanatic violinistbaka is working on it :D

  • @tohruongiri thanks for letting me know.

  • This sounds kind of Latin- or am I just imagining it? Does anyone know?

  • @narwhal17 It is. All Ood songs are Latin. David Tennant's Regeneration theme was called "Vale Decem" which is latin for "Farewell Ten".

  • @lorcan0c Yeah I know that, I actually memorized all the lyrics for that. But do you know where to find the lyrics for this song though?

  • @narwhal17 (You too huh? XD) Sorry. I've looked up and down the internet for lyrics. No sign of them as far as I can tell.

  • @lorcan0c LOL XD Yeah, me too. Well thanks anyway, hopefully someone will bother to record them sometime.

  • @narwhal17 I suggest looking at the top comments... :P

  • @videosearcherwhenbor 0_______0 I think I am visually impaired to have not noticed that.

  • For me this is a song about letting go of childhood. :(

  • The Ood: The Greatest Singers in the Universe.

  • Donna was my favourite, too bad she left

  • This song kills me every time :(

  • I wish people wouldn't comment at the top comment even though it was posted over a year ago.....

  • I like all the Doctors. Besides, you can't compare them to each other. They're all different in a good way.

  • the ood were my favorite species from the first creepy one "satans pit", and then the second i realized they weren't evil, but they were slaves by humanity. And by the time "planet of the ood" was over I like donna alot more

  • I miss the Ood. I miss David. I miss Russel. Mad, but brilliant. Mad, but brilliant.

  • reminds me of how humans treat animals...

  • i miss tenant,

    MATT SUCKS

and the poor writing doesn't help

  • @Foobyking9000 That's like saying I miss the young harry potter. The old one SUCKS! His personality and body changes. Deal with it. Matt is good.

  • "We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep." - Ood Sigma <3

  • @dasmanefe makes me cry....every. single time. :'(

  • LOOK! you piece of shit!!! justin bieber is a BIG SHIT!!!! AND YOU TOOO!!! SO you can't hear the good music of the world and of us so shut up idiot!!!!!!

  • First video I've seen with no dislikes, and we all know why.

  • Tears of the time and one lonely god who accepts to hear the call of this music for ever and ever i will rembere for the first time when ask my self why are cry when i hearthis !

  • This is so beautiful, gives me chills everytime, and brings tears to my eyes.

  • Yeeeeah WithLoveAndLaughter had the closest translation. Google Translate is great and all but like all computer translators it's really not good at actually interpreting anything where the meaning is a bit ambiguous or contextually dependent. If you go word-by-word, google translate's own translation is different from if you put in the whole text, and you can see where WLAL's version evolves from. We're a long way away from reliable computer translators, still...

  • song of captivity english lyricss according to google translate When they call, they say nothing. When they call, they say nothing. Keep lest, Keeping the virtue. Sevan you yourself observed. {interlude} While we live among men let us cherish humanity. When they call, they say nothing. While we live among men let us cherish humanity. When they call, they say nothing
  • I cried so much during the captivity song

  • Songs of Captivity and Freedom + Vale Decum + Doomsday = The saddest music composed during 10's reign.

  • I'm surprised that the song of captivity isn't Rebecca Black...

  • Anybody have the score or sheet music for this?

  • Thanks xD

I love this song so much XD

  • BTW: Offical lyrics-

The first part of the Ood song is:

Cum tacent clament. Serva me, servato te

    This translates as:

"While we are silent, we are screaming. Save me and I will save you."

And the song of freedom is:

Dum inter homines, sumus colamus humanita (cum tacent clament)

    Which translates as:

"When amongst humans, we should be humane."

  • @WithLoveAndLaughter Sounds Latin….

  • @NoREsT4thaWary because it IS Latin

  • @NoREsT4thaWary It is latin xD I love it, and it's the only piece I would go through the training to learn how to sing opera for.

  • BTW: Offical lyrics-

The first part of the Ood song is:

Cum tacent clament. Serva me, servato te

    This translates as:

"While we are silent, we are screaming. Save me and I will save you."

And the song of freedom is:

Dum inter homines, sumus colamus humanita (cum tacent clament)

    Which translates as:

"When amongst humans, we should be humane."

  • Closing your eyes to this music...wow...it definitely engulfs you.

  • Oh, and does anyone know if Murray Gold is going to be around for Series Six?

  • @musicsciencesexy He'd better be!

  • This song always makes me want to cry. The Ood have such beautiful telepathic voices.

  • The translations provided are not quite accurate. Better:

cum tacent, clamant: Although they keep silent, they cry aloud; their silence is more expressive than words. …

Of course, this deeper, more expressive translation isn't as theatrical as "screaming."

  • Personally I prefer not knowing what the words are, because I can really appreciate the emotion through just the music that way ... I like that, because sometimes, as you said, silence does speak louder than words, and it's nice to feel through the song we just hear rather than the words we can read.

Music is universal ... words are limited to a specific language ...

Tis why I love instrumental music so much - because it doesn't have to mean a specific thing, you can just ... feel it.

  • Truly beautiful. Makes me cry every time.

    God, David was good.

  • brilliant, heartaching piece, in a good way. murray gold is a musical maestro

  • brilliant, heartaching in a good way. murray gold is a musical maestro

  • Heartbreakingly Beautiful. Really the only thing that can discribe it.

  • this is just...beautiful. Murray Gold is a genius.

  • absolutely perfect. Gorgeous and touching, every time.

  • I love this piece!

The translation provided for "cum tacent, clamet" is a bit over-emotional. A better translation: When they remain silent, they cry out. (Their silence speaks louder than words) (Cicero)

  • I got chills! I always do ...

this song is ... incredible. But my favourite will always be 'Song of Freedom' the full version that's playing when they tow earth back and the Doctor's got all his companions with him in the TARDIS ... ah so great!!! :)

  • no thumbs down. everyone can be touched by the songs of the ood.

Boys, our work here is done!

  • it's amazing that most people who hear this seem to assume it is a woman singing when it is really a guy called mark chambers who is a counter tenor - or as we used call them; 'the kicked in the crown jewels' singers. sometimes think they sound pained but this guy carries it off !

  • great song... always have loved it...... but is this in Latin? or a language that was made up for the tv show?... i cant tell.... thanks a bunch for the video!! :)

  • @TheCardVVizard it's in latin and the info beneath the postin sets out the latin words and translation. who needs to make up new languages when most of us don't understand latin anyway !!!

  • the song for season 5 hasn't been as good in my opinion

The songs for s4 (and previous modern seasons) have just been ... better. They were, on the whole, much more moving and emotional ... very very memorable.

The ONLY song I really remember that has stuck with me from season 5 is the Doctor's new theme "I Am The Doctor"

  • *tears*

    Ohhh the feeling.

  • @LordDracoPaladin909 way to be racist you arsehole

  • The episode that this music belongs to always makes me wonder if this is who we'd be in our future. If we encountered primitive races like the Ood, would we enslave them?

  • @fogwatch Or pehaps someone else would enslave us first?

  • Listening to this now, it's still a moving piece, even without the images.

  • @LordDracoPaladin909 How should i know, I can't see you.

  • @DoctorWhoRocks10000 Me too - Well, Scottish, not British, but i wouldn't go as far as to say he's being racist - just expressing his opinion

  • this song made me cry.

  • "Adrift upon the sea of time, the lonely god wanders from shore to distant shore, upholding the laws of the stars above." - Doctor Who Refrence in the book "Brisingr"

  • This is sung by a guy!

  • Absolutely beautiful. One of my favourite pieces. <3

  • one of the best soundtracks from the RTD series. captivity of human beings and the struggle for freeing them.

  • so pretty it makes methink of all the sadness in the world combined in to one song

  • This piece brings a tear to my eye. I would also call it "Requiem for a Doctor".

Kind of reminds me of "Kadish Gallery" from Uru: Ages Beyond Myst.

  • Does anyone know where I can find the sheet music for this? Sheer brilliance.

  • I feel like someone's walking over my grave...

  • "Your song is ending, but the story shall go on forever."- Ood

  • @modtbod its actually "This Song is ending but the story never ends"

  • @modtbod

    But the story never ends*

    - Odd Sigma*

  • @modtbod actually it is "but the story never ends"

  • @modtbod its actually "Your Song Is Ending, But The Story Never Ends" -- and I know this was poster a year ago

  • @modtbod "This song is ending, but the story never ends." -Ood Sigma

    GET IT RIGHT

  • @bobqzx Dude... he posted that a year ago....

  • @supernamis you are an empty shell of a human being, even if you had a soul, you wouldn't deserve it.

  • I love this music SOOOOO much

but I also really love the music playing when the TARDIS is towing the earth back - most epic and moving songs ever!!!!!!

  • @blessedbyGod1000 Can anyone name that? ^^

  • @blessedbyGod1000 That's called "Song of Freedom" and it's one of my favorites!!!!

  • @blessedbyGod1000 Eveytime I watch that, the music just makes me have this silly grin on my face. I LOVE IT! ^-^

  • Makes me wonder what the next series soundtrack will bring... with a new composer and all...

  • Actually, it's just been confirmed that Murray Gold is staying on for Series Five!

  • Alright!

  • @KayzaPlyr hes gonna stay for all time. if he dies he will regenerate. if he wants to leave he wont. we wont let him!

  • @pottyaboutpotter1 Timelords can only regenerate 13 times. Its very possible that Tennant-Smith was his last regeneration. The series will end sometime.

  • @Zhaileo

true the series will end, but the Doctor will still live on in the hearts of the fans.

  • @KayzaPlyr Murray Gold, is pure Gold!

  • with a new almost everthing...*

should be different! but yeah, Murray Gold is staying :)

  • A requiem of the wisdom child. Truely an entity to the tears of time itself.Only a song for those who understand a deity of great sorrow. The song of one who possesses a soul that has become a distorted peral.

  • "The universe will sing you to your sleep."

  • Wow, this still doesn't fail to make me cry...

I've got tears I'm my eyes and I don't even know why...god it's such a beautiful piece of music! ='(

  • i cried during this!!

    I LOVE THE DOCTOR/ DAVID TENNANT!! <3

  • *Cries*

    its just so sad.

  • just as a confirmation, Song of freedom is actually the version of this that plays as Earth is dragged back home at the end of S4.

  • Friends Of The Ood FTW! :D

  • I never understood why Donna was so affected by the Ood's singing before but by half way through I was crying my eyes out :'(

  • tears of time that are wept by the lonely god

  • Oooh, like that.

  • beatiful

  • this song is so sad! words cant express how sad i feel right now...

  • It's flippin' amazing what this music does to me!

Although it makes me cry, it's just great how a piece of music can do this! ♥

  • Doctor: "..and now ......sigma, would you allow me the honor?

    Sigma: It is yours doctor.

    Doctor: "OH YES!"

    one of my fav scenes

  • this track u have to listen to with your eyes closed and let the music just wash over you.

my eyes welled up hearing it.

  • just a pity the song is so short...

    only just gets going

  • best song in dr who

  • Beautiful and haunting

  • Man.............the Song of Captivity and Freedom are opposites.............its' weird hearing them one after the other.

  • "THIS IS PERFECT"

  • This is amazing. It makes me almost wish I were an Ood so that I could sing with them just as beautifully.

  • omg that muisc made my eyes water

  • Songs of Captivity was very sad...it made me recall the state of the Ood.

  • are there lyrics to song of freedom really want a translation

  • who actually sings this song? and is that the actal name of the song?

  • there two different songs the song of captivity and the song of freedom just been joined
