I think Kangaxx is much harder if youre playing with 6 six Chars, Its easier to protect 1 char against his spells than 6, and chore or easy mode doesnt make a difference

I remember killing this freeeggin lich. I used Korgan's Frenzy ability. lol then used him as tank. then I have Keldorn with Carsormyr ti kill him. @_@

what an overcomplicated way to do something simple ... this certainly is not a chore ...

chore way would be a prot. scroll + ring of ram ... maybe 1-2-3 traps depending on class...

something much more simple ... maybe melfs meteors ... BUT definitely not a camp HARM spell + an exactly timed time stop spell + black blade of disaster ... lol pathetic and lame ...

i soloed this and the whole game 4-5 times ... classes were ... sorcerer, fighter/mage, assassin .... etc

@kangax in fact the only way to kill him is soloing with a spell protection scroll + 4+ weapon (like the one of the red dragon for paladins)

ye 50 spells and all the crap in the world on you. if you get flail of ages you can kill him at lvl 12. Remember to pickpocket him before fight for double riing :D.

I remember the first time I fought that one. One character lured him out, and then we used the 'follow' mechanics to hit just when he appeared, and get the hell out of there when he started casting.

The one that fixed creature duplication when running away from enemies by traveling between two areas, and the one that made spells cast in some areas affect targets that performed area transition.

I still think that the baboon with octopus arms was worse.

The easiest way to kill the demi-lich is using lvl 9 Spell Trap... the Imprisionment spell is lvl 9, so every time he uses it, u recover a lvl 9 spell...

So if the only lvl 9 spell u have is Spell Trap, u'll gain it and u'll be immortal... just attack kangaxx with some simple weapon and use spell trap again every 4 or 5 hits...I'll be a little long if u use a mage...

and for the litch... they're fkn easy, just use Remove Magic and Dispel Magic and u can freely attack him...

I never managed to defeat Kangaxx legitimately, but the lich found in the bridge district was almost too easy.

I cast 'Summon Insects' on the lich, and because he couldn't cast any spells, he just started punching me. Hahahahahaa!!!!

kan only casts this stupid cheese spell that grants no saving throw and nothing else.

i guess you can even beat him with casting imp invisibility which should make you untargetable by his spells (and he doesnt cast true seeing).

The other lichs with 10000 contigencies on them are much more difficult to beat than this guy :D

Kangaxx might not have a great spell selection, what he has instead is multitude of Opcode protections (weapons/spells effects) and relies on scripting. One particular Opcode he's got is "Invisibility Detection by Script" hence the lack of true seeing.

Basically, kangaxx is the biggest cheater in whole BG. I mean there are numerous shortcuts authors took like spell immunities. But Kangaxx has almost everything. You can't even drain his stats with spells that are in-existent in-game.

I'm gonna have to agree that pickpocketing a unique item from a powerful foe then killing them and looting a second is definitely cheating.

But I used cloak of sewers to transform myself into a jelly with 100% magic resistance and sat around until the lich ran out of spells, so don't mind me.

Get a Scroll of Magic Protection from that store in Waukeen's Promenade, and you can finish off both Twisted Rune and Kangaxx in 10 minutes game time.

But don't forget to obtain the Mace of Disruption +2 first.

If you get scroll of magic protection and the helm that grants Sacrilium, your clone can use the scroll on you, which doesn't use it up off your main character

i reload many times on this part.. the demi-lich is the most difficult enemy i've ever fought.. (by number of defeat i've suffered)

then i decide to turn into slayer..

and its work! the slayer immune to demi-lich's imprisonment spell, 1 vs 1... the others just watch the fight.. =)

i beat him at a fairly low level using the ring of the ram, ariel servants and minute meteors

just give your party protection from undead(with the scrolls) then turn loose keldorn on him with Carsomyr.He'll be dead in less than a minute(especially with a potion of giant strength and haste added to the mix)

i beat him w/ a berserked minsc holding crom fayer...so it was actually pretty late into the game. thats the only thing i can think of that beats imprisonments...cuz this guy can cast at least 5 imprisonments b4 he runs out

i remember sending korgan alone after that demi-lich thats in watcher's keep (if i remember right), was as easy as beating up on a hold'd monster.

This guy is high ass level and used time stop. This lich can be defeated at much lower level and without relying on cheating spells or undead killing stuff.

Easy to kill Kangaxx ; Imbue with spelle immunity scroll, a paladin with a the Holy Avenger and a haste spell.... too easy !

Hi, idiot joyfulvulture. Thieving has nothing to do here with editing or exploit abusing. It was intended by the authors that you can steal one ring from Kangaxx' corpse form and another one from Kangaxx' demigod form. Only the most intelligent nerds know that. A demilich may not wear items - primarily because their physical form leaves them incapable to do so, although they may if they wish ( by taking a form that can ), they still are able to gain the effects of items. Any items located near their phylactery are considered to be "worn" by the demilich for all the purposes of the effects they would bestow.

when it becomes demilich, use slayer change and just hack him to pieces with haste or improved haste. if u have party members, move them to the corner and watch the slayer does its job.

I managed to kill that bastard only thanks to the antimagic scrolls, and something like 3 or 4 mordenkainen swords to even get to damage him in demi-lich form. But whatever, what are these Tactics you're talking about?

Tactics is a collection of mods made by fans. It changes most of the crucial battles in Baldurs Gate 2 to make them far tougher. While you're at it, also download the Ascension mod. Youtube does not allow me to give you a direct link, but just google for 'Infinity engine mods' and you'll end up on the modlist of the Pocket Plane Group. Note that some of the Tactics fights are REALLY tough (Tactics Firkraag comes to mind).

Yes, protection from undead scrolls will make him unable to see and target you. Quite effective but a bit cheap, tbh. He's a lot tougher with the Tactics module installed, since that strategy no longer works and he has a wider variety of spells (plus some nasty guardians who you have to kill first).

I get the original lich to 1 with one hit (Harm); then I time a Timestop in so that it triggers exactly when the demilich form spawns; then I kill him with a BBoD and an Improved Haste.

I just charge and when I die I'll make up a plan.

I have defeated all dragons in the expansion set and the original game that way, there is really nothing to it

You dont exactly have a choice vs kangaxx, when he becomes a demi-lich, all he does is spam imprisonement, which WILL always work on your characters, making them out of your party.

You can always carry a scroll of freedom on you, but if he imprisons your main character, its game over.
