Urgh, this was so rushed compared to the VN. The scene was powerful because Shirou spent most of the fight barely able to stand with Archer blatantly in control of the fight until Shirou's conviction overpowered him. In this it seems pretty much even all the way through.
@SSj5Bob what are you talking about archer is crushing shirou through out the fight this is shown by how his weapons only break twice let alone all the possible kill shots and ranged attack options he had if he took the fight seriously archer was crushing him when the main point of the ying yang weapons were ranged attacks
@PotterSuccess Archer let Shirou win, it was more a battle of their convictions rather than a physical battle.
Archer saw that Shirou was set on pursuing the path of a "superhero" even though he now knew where this path would ultimately take him, Archer saw this and remembered his own conviction and decided that he couldn't cut down such a "beautiful" (he admits that himself) ideal, it's why he didn't kill Shirou when he was open after stabbing him and why he shielded him from Gilgamesh.
I always did like a good sword fight. And two Master level Swordsman going at it with unlimited blades with implausible feats is just about as awesome as you can get.
I really hope that the producers of other Anime's get the idea that we're not into talking during fights. I mean come on, you're trying to kill each other in a real duel, not discuss politics/philosophy/the state of the world and what-not.
@AnimeListKing I never knew there was a movie, so this is where people get all that extra info from. Makes allooooooot of sense now. Thanks allot for your reply, and sick list bro keep up the good work ! :)
@No1AFGKING Fate/Stay Night was originally a book, well a computer game (not actually a game more like a book wtih voice acting and epic pictures) that had 3 alternate realities, one where shirou falls in love with saber, one where shirou falls in love with tohsaka, and one where shirou falls in love with sakura. this is the one where shirou fell in love with tohsaka and ends up fighting Archer and Gilgamesh (alone)
@AnimeListKing You absolutely should. First of all, the game has a whole third path that's never been animated. Second, Unlimited Blade Works the Movie basically only covers the fight scenes without much in ways of the story, so you've yet to truly experience that path too. Not to mention few of the awesome Bad Ends and the alternative endings. If you've watched the anime and liked it, the visual novel should be an incredible experience. Get Realta Nua and English patches for it.
emiya vs emiya is always a good fight. he abandons that future in the fate route and UBW route though, but in heaven's feel it is unavoidable since everyone pretty much dies
shirou does so many useless moves

If it was just sword fighting this shit would of been wack. Them weighing each others ideal is what made this the best scene in the movie

@PotterSuccess in archer's defense, he had no master to supply him with mana for three days when he fought shiro.

@AnimeListKing You're ranking these fights in terms on quality animation right? Then Sword of The Stranger would be #1

@zachu95 Fights are judged on originality, uniqueness, length, battle sequences, number of participants and lack of interference.

This anime is fucking awesome, and Archer is a badass! Even when he speaks in English, the voice actor still does a better job than the English dub.
