jtnorg, have you ever heard of 'exchange rates' £1 is not equal to $1. therefore you're '1/4 of the amount' statement is completely false. Nice try though.

OK A.) it was a joke and B.) the exchange rate changes all the time but today its .67 so i guess 1 American dollar will get you .67 British pounds today. so i guess if you won the jackpot in England you would roughly win (250,000 * 1.67)=$417,500 American dollars that's less than half of the American Jackpot which is 1,000,000 American Dollars or 670,000 British Pounds today.
