The bigotry I'm reading in these comments is truly disturbing and a little ironic given that it's the sweeping generalizations like what I am reading below that can fuel such despicable crimes. Sadly, I believe that most people, when placed in the right situation, are capable of such evil, which is a horrifying realization about human nature, but it certainly is not racially based. This sort of thing has happened all over Europe and Asia as well.

If the US would drop an atomic bomb on Africa Earth would be a much better place. Well the problem is even though the government has a seat in the UN, they lack the same authoritative power of the UN Security Council. And unless any member of the UNSC has a personal interest vested in the area, they are unlikely to intervene. Even if one of the UNSC had interests that would favour intervention (e.g. political interests) another one might have different interests that will suffer from intervention (e.g economic interests i.e arms sales)
In short, the U.N is unreliable
