  • Excellent compilation of photos and clips. 5* The GWR 0-6-2 tanks could be found all over the GWR but were concentrated in the Welsh valleys used on both coal and passenger work.

  • 5643 is not a prairie, it is an 0-6-2t

  • Oh I see my mistake as they look very similar as they are known as large prairies

  • No they are not. Prairie means a 2-6-2 wheel formation when referring to steam engines. 5643 is a 0-6-2 and is known as a Coal Tank or Taffy tank as they mainly worked coal trains in South Wales.
