This video is brilliant. I'm a fairly new knitter and just found out that my friends gf is 12 weeks pregnant so I have plenty of time to finish the project. Now I actually have a video and a pattern that I can follow and won't make me lose my mind having to cast on 270 stitches straight away!! Thank you so much!!
I have been wanting to learn how to knit for a long time,(I've been crocheting since I was about 7 or 8) but was having trouble reading a pattern, I can learn better watching someone then hopefully going to the the written pattern. Thank you for taking the time to go slow on teaching someone how to knit.
Is there a photo anywhere of the completed project, I am curious as to what it looks like. I LOVE that you start with 5 stitches and not 270! I have given up on many blankets because I lost count of my cast on stitches and it is a PAIN casting on that many stitches...
@MrScreamQween I'm so sorry, but I don't have a photo of the completed project :( I could knit up a small version to give you an idea if you would like.
@number2gurl I typically use US8 needles. These might be US7's. I will double check when I have my needles (they are packed as I am moving, so sad). It doesn't matter too much for gauge as long as you don't knit too tight. I knit with larger needles usually because I am a very tight knitter usually.
where did you get this pattern from? i want to make a baby blanket for my friend who is due to have a baby girl in february but i kinda wanna start it soon. i wanna make it a little fancy because all the other videos ive seen just say to like knit the whole thing but the holes sound like they would look neat when all done :)
hello i just started knitting and learning from you tube, but i think you should know that you cant see what you are doing do to the lack of light and color of yarn. =) were do you get you patterns from?
@JCCessy07 Thanks for the comment. I actually made the video for my cousin as she was having difficulty with something and using a specific part of the pattern. I know the black yarn was a bad choice :/ I will use different yarn and not do it at 2 am if I do it again in the future :)
Thanks for the feedback! I have better tutorials on my blog in pictures.
Can you please tell me what size needles and what gauge yarn to get?
Approximately, how long did it take you to make this baby blanket?
Thanks so much for your video!!

It's kinda hard to see what's going on since you're using such a dark color string with a dark background in your video.

@walelia2 That is okay! I already started working on it. It essentially the same pattern as "Grandma's Favorite Dishcloth". Thanks :)
