  • My 03 supercab automatic ran an 11:62 with a loaded tool box in the bed.1/8th mile.

  • @Camaromandave98 yeah, no doubt. i used to have a 96 T/A with the LT1 and that thing would launch very quick, only 1 car ever got me off the line and it was a 3000GT VR-4, but i still caught it around 80mph. never lost a race in that thing. i really iss it :(

  • @Camaromandave98

to bad the new camaro isint a ls1 dumb fuck, im a ford guy and i know that.......although i agree he was spinn tires really bad on the launch

  • Can't pu t straight pipes on a v6 plus it's a shitty truck.. You suck get a real truck puss.

  • Who drags with a v6 truck? U have no chance.

  • @99ford150v8 i have had my 08 V6 f150 at the track, have beaten every truck i raced there. also on the road i have beaten my buddy's 04 4.8L silverado and that was before i got my tuner. i moved away and cant race him now. i got a tuner, he traded his in for an 06 5.3L silverado Z71. i visited him and i could stay right beside him in any gear until i had to shift. once i pushed in the clutch he was gone. but 0-30, or 30-55, or 55-80, i can stay right beside him. all 3 are reg cab shortbeds

  • im fixing to take my truck to the track its an 04 heritage rounded style with v6 4.2 and tuned muffler lol...

  • @crazyryan A tuned muffler? How do you go about that? You will probably run around 11.5 in the 1/8th mile.

  • i just got to thinking, is that track pretty sticky or is it pretty slick? the track i went to was on the slicker side plus it was about 45 degrees outside. hell i squaked tire shifting into 2nd and also into 3rd. also had to start out a little easy to keep from spinning. never went on a warmer day so that might be why.

  • my best 1/8th time was 10.9510@64.65mph on my way to my 16.9378@81.66mph. have the video on youtube but it doesnt show the times, my buddy didnt know how to zoom the camera in. raced a 96 V8 dodge ram 4x4 but dont know if it was a 318 or a 360. my guess is 318 but who knows. maybe this summer i will see him again and ask what he has.

  • @timmypstyle with that time in the 18th that you have, i have to say again that i think you have a 3.31 rear end. i have one of the fastest times on f150online for a V6 that isnt modded much and one of them is a 97-03 style with a 3.55 and the mods you have and he cant get that time you got and his truck is lighter. just my $.02 but i cant see a 3.08 running that time. what is your axle code?

  • @timmypstyle or it would help if you could tell me what speed your gears top out at.

  • @timmypstyle wait, did you powerbrake it on the start? ok now i can see a faster time like that. i cant do that with mine, the rear end hops. but i know its a huge jump for the 4.2 if you do it the way you did.

  • @timmypstyle Haha it was a 3.08, i'm a good driver, and yeah, i will have to go find a picture of my axle code. I don't have the truck anymore. I was good at launching my truck too, i launched at like 3k every time.

  • @palombax i wish i could do that. axle hop sucks! i am going to race my buddy's 04 silverado reg cab shortbed 2wd auto 285hp 4.8L V8 with my estimated 210hp f150 that weighs more than his. we raced 5 times, 2 off the line, and 3 from a 40mph roll. i beat him 2 out of 3 times on the 40mph rolls but off the line he gets me. if i could powerbrake it i could probably stay with him tho.

  • @timmypstyle no powerbreaking, i dont drive an automatic.... You just got to know how to use your clutch

  • @palombax well you CAN powerbrake a manual but you just move forward a little in the process. ok then i am back to being totally clueless on how you are getting that time.

  • @timmypstyle LOL no you cant, power breaking is something done in an automatic, So your going to burn the shit outa your clutch, as you hold down your brake? You make no sense.

  • @palombax yes you can, start out like normal where you are going like 5mph and push the brake and gas down. foot isnt on the clutch. autos just dont roll, manuals you have to get it in the gear and let off the clutch before you hit the brake. ive seen it done many times in a manual. they just roll like 5 or 10 ft before they are able to do it. autos sit still.

  • @timmypstyle Why would you do that, when you can have the clutch in, rev to the RPM you plan to launch from, then when the light hits green disengage the clutch just right to achieve the best launch.

  • @palombax i thought you had an auto when i said that before. but yeah you cant powerbrake a manual at the track. it would be hard to get it on the line just right. but i know it gives a very nice jump for the autos. i personally have only made 4 runs so i havent gotten my clutchwork at the track down pat. the track i was as was kinda slick. so i had to launch different from how i do normally. but from a red light i can get it moving pretty good.

  • there isnt really a whole lot to get without modifying the crap out of it. you can get a CAI or make your own, or do the GOTTS mod, you can get a tuner, few different types, should add around 18hp CAI maybe 8hp. right now i just have my K&N CAI off of my 04 heritage since K&N stopped making CAIs for the V6 from 06+ but i also ran a flex tube from my bumper to my filter, helpd a little, barely noticable but at higher speeds, it cant hurt it. i am trying to make a ram air and buying an SCT tuner.

  • SCT seems to be the most common for the 4.2L but really most should work. look at the specs of it and make sure it can hold more than 1 tune. the one i want holds 3 or 4 so you replace your stock with one them on it. i want to get custom performance 87 tune and a custom performance 93 tune at the least. you can get canned(normal) tunes but custom ones are designed specifically for your truck.

  • nice i got a f150 04 heritage and gonna try it at the drag strip should be the first time there for it!!!

  • I have a 1986 now, the 2008 was hit by a dumb bitch and totaled. My 86 has a 302 with a c6 for now. Soon to have a 400hp motor and a 6 speed manual

  • lol it has a v8, but its about to have a new motor and 400 hp 425ft lbs, as soon as i find a transmission i will be knocking on lightnings back door.

  • are you sure you have a 3.08 rear end??? your owners manual should tell you that the V6 in 08 only came with a 3.31 or a 3.55, im guessing you have the 3.31. the 97-03 style and 04 heritage had the 3.08. my 04 heritage had them. then again, if you have an auto tranny, i could be wrong. i know the manual tranny only came with 3.31 and 3.55s

  • possitive it was a 3.08. The manual came with 3.08. Look at your axle code on the door jam and look it up.

  • @palombax im just saying that even the owners manual doesnt have the 3.08 listed as a rear end offered. 3.08 was on the V8s i am pretty sure tho. but the 3.08 should have been dropped for the V6 in 05, 04 they still had it in the heritage.

  • lol you sir are wrong. I have the 2008 dealer service manual right here. Also call the dealer and ask them if you would like. The standard ratio for the 5 speeds was 3.08 with an open differential. They also had a 3.55 and a 3.55 limited slip option.

  • @palombax mine says 3.31 and 3.55. in my 04 heritage's manual, it had 3.08, 3.31 and 3.55 for the V6. i will scan the page and send it to you if you want....not saying you are lying but just saying that my owners manual says 3.31 and 3.55

  • do the 3:08 gears make it have more low end power when taking off

  • no. 3.08 is more for highway. you want the 3.31 or the 3.55. i had a 04 heritage(03 style) reg cab longbed V6 5spd 2wd 3.08 weighing 3897 Lbs. 0-60 was 9.58 seconds in 2nd gear. now i have an 08 V6 reg cab shortbed 2wd 5spd 3.55 rear end and the 0-60 is about the same because i have to shift to 3rd gear before i hit 60mph but 100mph comes about 5 seconds earlier on my 08 and it weighs 4364Lbs. i just ran a 16.9378@81.66mph in the 1/4 today with only a cold air intake.

  • idealy, you want a 4.10 for a track truck.

  • @palombax yeah but this is a daily driver, dont want to be doing 2500rpms at 65mph.

  • not bad. i got the same truck. only myns a 00
