I have ridden maybe 15 times. Last ride was a few weeks ago. Was on the first ride after a half hour shut down and it was the fastest I ever remember. Felt so much more intense. We felt the brakes at the top of hill. Anyone know if this happens when they reset the system or was it coincidence?

@CBurcik theres no brakes at the top its launch from a magnetic force then the acceleration carries it up the hill. sometimes if theres wind blowing directly at the train it can slow it down and just 1mph slower is enough for it to have a roll back

@rhysizhere1 yes there is brakes at the top of the main arch. The brakes are there just in case if the train isnt going fast enough it will roll back instead of saddling on top of the arch. with the brakes on top of the arch it makes it impossible to get stuck

Just got back from six flags. I had NO WAIT for kingda ka. You need to go on a monday or tuesday in the summer. btw i also had the green train.

well secretly at the top there are breaks to make it slow down so the riders can get a view of the park for like a few seconds

@jcoaster11, Those brakes are actually there so that the train does not get stuck at the top, they just tell you its for sight seeing :)

it used to in its opening season but nearby residents complained about the noise disrupting them. i can see why because it was pretty loud
