@FULLEFFECTCARCLUB In this video it went 15.1 with a stock engine on 8psi at 6000 ft elevation. Most customers go into the 14's with that setup. We have trucks in the low 13's / high 12's now and I'm expecting my truck in this video to be in the 11's very soon!
@asssface2000 well technically its not the same truck, its a sonoma not an s10, its just mostly the same, making it a clone. do you get a kick out of being an asshole? I mean did it seriously bother you that much that I used the word clone? Go troll somewhere else
dude where did u get some of those parts for your truck because im buying an s10 with a 5 speed trans and a 2.2 in it and i really wana turbo it but idk where to buy the stuff at so if anyone could help me with that i would very appreaciate it thank you
Hey I have a 2000 2.2l s10 and I was wondering what was included in the turbo kit and approx. how much it would cost. This is the only kit I can seem to find for besides on the STS website which no longer seems to be filling orders.
@WWWDTS2NET Do you think a 4wd Toyota with a 4 cylinder could do this? I'd be worried about the height of the truck more than power, but what do you think?
@HedgehogOutdoors I know they can... it's been done many times. The toyota 4runner used to come from the factory with a turbo 4 cylinder and there is a company that makes many performance parts including a turbo kit for the popular toyota 4 cylinder
I was going to pull the 4.3 out of my 98 p/u and swap in a lq9 6.0L, but decided to stay with the v6. Turboing the v6 will be lighter, cheaper, easier, and less common than the v8. Trying to decide whether to go twin or just one bigger turbo.
@IsKrisKrazy The standard stage 1 kit fits into the 94-98 S10's with no modifications necessary. You'd have to get a custom header built or an adapter pipe made to go from your header to the turbo kit chargepipe to make it work but it would be a fairly easy modification.
@irishjdc it aint rice, its just a four-banger with a turbo outer.
no its no a 350 or a 383, but its pushin turbo for higher end speed when it kicks in, not a supercharger so it can lose traction when the outer kicks in 3 feet off the line.
and yeah, a 350 with a mild cam is puttin out about twice as much as HP as a stock 2.2, but thats not the point, its HP to weight, not horsepower for shits and giggles, and the 2.2 is lighter with a turbo than a 350 is without.
@garrittpwl This particular run was a 15.2 @ 6000ft on 7psi untuned without launching... It was a terrible pass that I was embarrassed to post considering how this thing actually runs and the cars it beats on the street. It's just the only video we were able to capture that season. Not that I'm making excuses for it but you find your favorite 14 or 15 second car and I'll run you for any amount of money spotting you the launch! ;) We terrorize 13 second cars out here all night long!
does the intercooler have to go in the middle of the bumper like that? I have an xtreme and i dont want to ruin the look of it. I would like to keep it looking stock so i can surprise people at the stoplight
@70chevelle8 it's kind of the only place for one but you don't have to cut open the valence, you can put a scoop underneath it and channel the air in that way
@bluefox121 who said it was $5000??? we sell the stage 1 kit to get you going for $3000... That's normally good enough to put you into the 14's with a stock engine and the same kit will make nearly 500hp with the addition of a built engine.
major props on the truck man that thing is sick i got a white sonoma with some rims its not turbo or anything yet but i want to sometime nice job man. does it keep up with them stags pretty well?
@SuperBrandango They are on sale for $4800 right now but will most likely settle into a price of $5000-$5500 depending on how fast we can keep producing them.
hey i have exact same turbo kit in my s10, is it bad cuz i can hear my turbo wind up and i could never hear it before, or is it just getting worn in, i have had it in for about 1 year
This run could have came way down e.t. with a better launch/tires and the 5 link rear out of a Xtreme. ive seen high 13's with a swapped 2009 Cobalt SS engine with 260 hp and that setup with a automatic.
how much would a fully built engine cost it doesnt say on the webite i am saving up money for a turbo and i dont want it to be held back at all, also my truck has a auto i belive its a 4L60E same as fullsized trucks so do you think it would hold up to high hp thanks for any help you can give me.
