  • 1:26 Wap-up- d'uhu!

  • Thank god he got to that bush before he fell.

  • Fuck em pussies Dan Osman was the man

  • helmets are just nessary if rocks or stones come down and then the helmet save for flying stones etc.

  • helmets are just nessary if rocks or stones come down and then the helmet save for flying stones etc.

  • I was just thinking how much rope he had taken out..

  • thats crazy but awsome at the same time :D

  • It just gets better and better with each viewing... epic.

  • 1:22 for the fall :-)

  • The cameramen planted that rock, so he could get the fall on camera!

  • im glad this is not one of my hobbies lol

  • @butters226 climbing is brilliant :)

  • the cameraman placed the rock that broke just to get a cool video

  • im not scared of falling, i have commando pro

  • Bad ace, I'd be trying it to. Close calls happen.

  • Awesome. I would have shit myself!!

  • hahahahaha!!!!!!! hilarious!! awesome! :D

  • Rule #1 in lead climbing: clip the fuckin' rope.

  • tut tut tut he put the rope in his mouth if he fell then bye bye teeth

  • I just think its so funy that he is talkng about big air dyno.. befor he falls and gets 10X the air. I wonder what he was like when he got to ground ''OMFG!!!! I JUST ORGASM IN MY Y FRONTS''

  • i want to see u guys climbing this wall.... fuckers! BIG UP MAN!

  • video du petzl roc trip 2004

  • FAIL!

  • i read the dangerouse to relaxe thing and was like question mark, i looked up at the screen and then like the guys just fell, i screamed, lol.

  • 0:50 haha

  • when he said 'that's better, the bush is here, I can't fall anymore' I laughed sooooo hard

  • 3325js: Why should he climb any higher when he finished the route already? He just got a perfect hold, but it was broken and fell off. He had no clue of that, so he just wanted to clip the anchor so he could get back to ground.

  • It's not ceuse, i'm french and i have climbed in ceuse..

    dunno where it is though..

  • funniest thing i ever seen

  • what the song at the end??

  • at lest he wasn't a pussy about it.

  • pride comes before a fall

  • dude you don't need that much slack to clip the anchor. you should never pull out that much rope. if you need that much slack, you should climb up higher.

  • 0:26 WTF beast

  • sick ass dyno at 27

  • thats a bummer! does anyone elses hands get sweaty when they watch climbing vids?!

  • ooooooooh s*$t....

  • omg i freaked out when he fell haha, any1 else who did the same? :D

  • is this in Oliana?

  • @surtuo Looks more like France..

  • @TheClimbingPanda It's ceuse in france.

  • @ixGeminixi Doesn't look like Ceuse at all. Ceuse is a crown that covers the whole top of the mountain where as this is more of a mid-mountain crag. And when it zooms out at the start, I can't see any crown at all.

Of course, I'm not french nor have I been to Ceuse. Can anyone confirm this?

  • @surtuo ceuse I believe.

  • its the big air fault

  • The Joy of flying ^^

  • He seemed to fall a long way considering that the last clip was pretty much at his feet.

  • wow i bet that gave him an adrenaline rush xD

  • I hate climbers talking, its annoying

  • @hydr5: Then watch Rihanna-Vids instead!

  • This was stolen from one of Petzl's Roc Trip videos. He's obviously one of the top climbers in the world, and does everything correctly. You'll notice his belayer shortropes him as he's trying to clip the anchors.

If I remember correctly, Petzl finds unclimbed lines, bolts them, and has an invitation-only cast of top climbers try to do them. Thus, there was still some loose rock on the climb.

  • rfol

  • omfg i thoght he were gona fall into the ground O_O"

  • haha brilliant, bet that got the heart going! for the belayer too...

  • lucky there were no rock shelves

  • WHOA THATS A BUSH I CANT FALL ENYMORE damn einstein

  • One word.....WHY?

  • thats something i would do lol thats funny man cool editeding at the begenning too

  • big air..uhaushuahsuahushau

  • what kind of camera did they use, they film from the airport in Paris and the guy is climing in Africa...?!?

  • That's the reason why you should clip and, after, have a joke with your mates...

A climber falls faster than a rock - a broken hold can hit you right in the head just after you stopped falling. No helmet included: why? Because "I cannot fall anymore"? LOL

  • @jerryunltd

"a climber falls faster than a rock." what physical world do you live in? Gravity is -9.8 m/s^2 no matter what...that means rocks and people fall at the same rate.

real life is different than cartoons pal.

  • @bryceflorek Except you failed to count for the wind resistance.

  • @amandeep1

wind resistance on rock and people are minimal, especially on the rocks that size...wind resistance only counts in doing physics problems when comparing the speed of a rock/person falling versus a piece of paper. fail

  • @jerryunltd Rocks and people fall at the same rate...its called gravity, but climber's bodies fall first usually

  • @jj8512 .. Strictly speaking, that isn't true .. Yes, climbers and rocks are pulled towards the ground by the same strength gravitational force, however, the rock, unless huge, has lower drag, so will hit a higher terminal velocity than the climber. Thus falling at a greater rate of speed.

  • @latounga1 that is true, but at this hieght, drag has little effect upon speed of descent. If it was say out of a plane, for example, what you are saying is true, but niether the climber nor the rock could reach terminal velocity in the short time it took for the two to stop descending, so the climber and rock fell at virtually the same rate.

  • "I cannot fall anymore"

    *falls*

  • @33LB Not that much of an irony, really. You'll notice that it was because of the bush that he couldn't fall. When he was safely standing on the little shelf with plenty of room, there were no bushes, and thus, fall.

(that, and his hold broke, but that's a secondary thing, I believe)

  • @MidgardEagle It's a crime your comment isn't top rated. 'there were no bushes, and thus, fall'... HA

  • haha nice vid

  • Haha, that was so funny ^^

  • He is so lucky the rop wasn`t in his mouth when he fell. ouch!!

    nice fall though. :)

  • "le sentiment du vol"LOL!!!!!

  • why voypics?

  • PWND HAHA

  • He was fine lol

  • no helmet, clever

  • @nerdOland

Why would he need a helmet??????????

  • Helmet it's not a souvenir, it's not only for probies, helmet is a professional climbing tool¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ Big climbers also use it......

  • @LASTHELLSPAWN

He is climbing on a bolted overhanging sport route. There is minimal danger of rockfall, little danger of hitting the rock if he falls off and as it looks like he's taking part in a comp, I'm sure the guy is more than experienced enough to make a judgement call over whether he needs to wear a helmet.

Helmets have their places, but they are not essential in all aspects of climbing.

  • @littlebritton1 have you ever heard of a little thing called gravity and rocks???? dead beat!!

  • Yes, I have indeed heard of both of those things. Climbing is about judgement. That is the reason I never climb in the Alps without my helmet on. Sport climbing is slightly different, and as I have said, it's up to the individual to make that choice.

  • Yes it is about ones choices. but climbing is dangerious enough as it is. without the prospect of a rock smashing through your skull at 100ks an hour. it aint that hard to jam a helmet on your head.

  • @littlebritton1 yeah i thought along similar lines.

Till i read an article in a magazine about a guy who smashed his head in climbing and is now disabled and can no longer climb properly, sobering stuff

  • good thing he wasn't biting the rope when he fell... his teeth would be gone.

  • lol if the stone hit someone Oo

  • i love this video. that irony, "i cannot fall", "i love the feeling of flying... big air"--you just couldn't write that. so perfect.

  • ops....fall!! ;)

    Cool man.

  • fail! :D

    cool, dude !

    nice climb

  • that feeling of flying...AHHHHHHHHHH

  • this is why I don`t understand "Solo"...I mean..with loads of Practise and Training you could Control nearly everything...your Strengh, your Stamina, your Technique and so on..but you can`t control the Damn Rock...if it breaks you are Dead..

  • You can control what hold you use, for with experience you know what holds are good. So you are in control.

  • to certain extent, thinkin like that will get you to were osman is now.

  • If not taking that risk would keep everyone safe, then we would not have people dying in things like car accidents; so what's the point of not taking risks?

  • Comment removed

  • @fatmiceymuma

    NO, It's sport crag

  • @faisalhalim You're never in control completely.

  • @MrVoiceofreason123 Not buying that.

  • @faisalhalim Ha ha ha ha ha ha ok. All hail to this supreme being who is in control all the time.

  • @MrVoiceofreason123 So much for voice of reasoning.

  • @Slears I believe that this climb is one of the new routes established during some of the Petzl Roc trips, which take some climbing lacation, which has bad/none/old protection, they put new bolts in it and then invite to the trip some of the best climbers. Because of that, the route has more loose rocks and debris than frequently climbed routes, where soloers go. If you're a good soloer, you pick only those climbs, which has perfect rock quality and the loose rock risk is low.

  • @Slears knowing the rock quality hence controling the rock is part of the practrice and training of free climbing... The people you see soloing, they know it damn well: but like everything in life it is a controled risk.

Me, I did some stupid solos... I will never ever do it again ^_^

  • I think it's "Jerome" and not "Gerome"

  • where is the rest of this video??? Does anyone know of the link for the rest of the rock trip footage???

  • i loved the start of that vid.

  • lmao at the noise he makes as he drops

  • ABBUUUB-DEE-UHUUU!!!

  • HAHAHAAHAH XDDDD

  • WOW almost everyone here is retarded. you ever heard of falling? he was trying to clip the anchors he wasnt being hairy at all. holds break. that doesnt make him an idiot.

  • @Snorri520 What makes him a idiot.. is him not wearing a shirt... when hes climing..

  • @paul911d ha ur a shit-tard

  • @Snorri520

I agree the guy looks like a good solid competent climber to me (look at the fucking rout he just bagged!). His fall was a bit freakish because he had passed the hard stuff and was clipping in but like you said holds break... especially on the kind of sedentary shit he's climbing. The thing is that folks that don't push themselves don't fall but neither do they ever get any better.

  • lol, yup. had several small flakes at Josh pop off in my hands over the years, one sent me for a grinder on disneyland dome...........aarrgh!

  • holds break. You have to be prepared for it...

  • hahahahaha......"pure joy....big air...aaaaarrrgggghhh" pure classic you got pure joy kid and bigger air than you expected

  • woah haha

    "big air"

  • I seriously didnt think he was going to fall, there was a bush there!!

  • i think it was prepaired

  • THEN... YOU ARE STUPID..

  • He was going to clip in. Thats what the slack was for. Please try not to be an idiot.

  • @GabeLow59 he was trying to clip in, you fool! of course he had to pull slack!

  • I could see that happening!

  • looooooooooooooooool

  • aucun doute c'est du francais ! that was french for sure !

  • wat is this climbs rating?

  • ba ba baba ba

  • major rope burn in bad places lol

  • "i cannot fall any more." hahahaha.

  • fuckin damn feeling, I gues... but after that you`ll feel like a god !

  • Now, what did he say on the way down?

    "..Aboop...YEOOOOOUUUHHH!!!"

Ha! Seriously though, that was French, right? I took three years of it and I can't even tell for sure. How sad is that?

  • Comment removed

  • hahahaha i laughed so hard when he fell

  • Wow that looks like fun :D:D poor guy but that was funny :P

  • Oops.

  • where is this? balazuc?

  • haha ah man dont sit and talk i wasnt expecting him to fall but usually when im climbing and I sit still i feel like im gonna fall

  • I would love to fall like that because I get a huge adrenalin rush when I fall

  • Przepiękny lot ! Jak tylko !!!

  • oh god watching that made me feel sick. i fell recently from an indoor climb. i had rope pulled out for the next clip but i fell and it had wrapped around my hand. still in cast now with a fractured carpel bone from where the rope tightened on me. minor as some climbing injuries go.

  • i'm sorry that sounds horrible

  • Comment removed

  • Isn't this from a Petzel promo video?

  • Comment removed

  • I think he his yelling to hold him since what is more important the falling couple pound rock or the 160Lb dude at the end of the rope.

But everyone should call out rock if a rock is seen falling.

  • Kip 16: Keep playing with your safety dolls in your safety room, in your safety house with your safety mommy taking care of you...... Climbing is a lifestyle asshole¡ ¡ ¡ Shut up ¡ ¡ ¡

  • hahaha!!!!

  • He screamed ATTENTIOOOON in french... and that's great of him. His first thought was to warn the guys for the stone that fell off!

  • every time i feel am falling..i just wake up, soften up my pillow and keep sleeping.

  • That made me laugh.

  • lucky the rope wasn't in his teeth lol

  • excatly what i was thinking!

  • Does that still count as a redpoint? ;)

  • Indoors Never The Best Place to Start, The Best Way is Always Outdoors, But If Your Learning How To First, then Start Very, Very Small.

  • Which is why indoors is great to start with. Minimal risk, controlled environment and if you're only just starting out, it's a great, safe way of learning technique and building strength for when you hit the outdoors.

  • It's as if he was so caught up in what he was saying, he forgot that he was climbing.

  • a lesson well learned

  • gnarly fall

  • that bloke was cocky as

  • attentiooon (girl voice)

though good that he said that instead of

    aaaahhhh!!!

  • My fear of falling is what keeps me going!

  • o dude... that never happened to me yet, but if it did, i know i would be a Take and calling it a day. Great climb

  • When iam about to fall...iam allways like..Hold on!! Hold on!! Dont fall! Fuck...

  • Geez.... I would be too. I am getting into indoor gym climbing. I don't know if I could ever do anything like this. Kudos to you.

  • Its not that hard...since u dont want to fall u dont have much choice u know :)

  • Haha, yeah, I guess you would find the strength somewhere.

  • you will, thankfully i have not yet taken a big fall like that while on a lead..

    but i'm dreading the day..

although, indoor is the best place to start, and you will probably now never stop, youll just get better and better!

    Have fun!

  • haha I know the feeling... its such a rush when your up there, and then you look down for a foot hold. "dont fall dont fall dont fall" ... "Holyyyyy crappp!" ahhh good times eh!

  • Yepp, i hate that the critical moment is when iam by next expres...trying to put there the damn rope and the stupid ex. keeps moving becouse of wind -.-

  • he talking about flying haha now he flaying down

  • is that Gorges du Tarn?

  • Haha lesson learned use gears before relaxing!!

  • first clip than talk ;)
