Owning an Rb30DET with a Gt30 .82 its amazing how much better the DET's rev, mine flicks its 7300rpm without hesitation.
You really need some cams in that SOHC to drop the boost required to make reasonable power.
Mine made 276rwkw @ 17psi with stock cams and then 302rwkw @ 17psi with 265/265 cams using the lowly gt3076r .82 with an internal gate. Stock exhaust and inlet manifolds.
The car has a built engine in it now with ported RB30 head and a Wade cam, It makes 360 rwkw on 22 psi. It also has a super charger infront of the turbo now that is on from 0-3200 rpm then switches off and is bypassed. It makes over 20psi at 2500 rpm
The latest video on my videos is it but that's before it was tuned and so the blower was left turned on at that stage. It's not giving it anything at low rpm's but you can have a listen to how it sounds with the blower since it's staying on. There other videos / pictures of the car around you just have to look around the place a bit, it's pretty famous
That's a well tuned stock NA motor from the wreckers on 20 psi 280 rwkw. The run on the video is 2nd-3rd gear. Why in a VN? it was the best option for a "legal" turbo motor transplant and VN's are just the same as VL's so everything bolts straight in with the advantage of the car looking better and not going rusty:P
true i guess but i must say dont know why ur worryed about rust my vlc has no rust at all and its a 88 + vlts are lighter + the shape go's thou the air better so iv heard but thumbs up for doing it to a vn lol
oi I forgot to reply, the VN's are actually alot more aero/slipperly and faster on the top end than a VL, big difference between them in the VN's favour in that area, but they do weight a bit more
This car started with a worked trimatic (blew that up) now runs a 5 speed manual from a Skyline. It now runs a supercharger and a blower on a worked motor, not the stock one in this video. 660?cc injectors, big dollar build. But as it stood in this video with the stock engine, the engine work at least was cheap. You just use the VL K frame and everything bolts up, even the exhaust
Yes but if your beside a VL at the lights you allways have a suspicion it's going to be fast, You don't except a faded VN with hubcaps to be a 10 second car :p

Sorry I've been awake too long, it runs a superchanger and the turbo :) turbo feeds into the blower, it makes 20 psi at 2500 rpm
