So the law man is a Sheriff. We had one of these guys in my area years ago and he pulled over my brother for smoking his tires. The sheriff up here was driving a Mecedes. Police use many kinds of vehicles. in Chicago and NYC, police use the Grand Marquis as much as the Crown Vic. I saw a video once of a vehicle in SC getting pulled over by a dark green suburban with bumper stickers all over it to make it look like a soccer mom car. Different states have different laws.
