  • mmm so good

  • lol awesome

  • lol good

  • I had a horrible response to Humira---shortness of breath --chest pain-tingling in arms and legs- extreme fatigue-started losing concentration----I have now been off for two weeks and feeling a little better----how many have had these exact same symptoms?

  • Anyone with Crohn's should look up "Shona Banda" on Youtube. Good luck!

  • It's too bad these biological drugs cause cancer... a vegan diet will help relieve and/or cure crohn's - no negative side-effects.

  • I have moderate to severe Crohn's disease. No medication other than Prednisone seems to work. I have tried Humira, Remicade and a myriad of other drugs. I am looking into specific diets for Crohns. What foods should I base my diet off of? I know that everyone is different, but some things work for the majority. What about Cats Claw and other herbs? Which herbs do I need to take, how much do I take and in what form? Help.

  • @mguruj Please be care mixing herbal remedies with Rx Meds! It could be dangerous. Taking ALL dairy out of my diet helped!

  • I just got through watching a video about a man that cured his crohns with hemp oil and he got great results with no side affects.

  • I've had Crohns disease for nearly 9 years, if any of you have any questions or a general chit chat then dont hesitate to ask, im 19 right now and suffered through my entire teenage life.

  • @IHateTerrorism

i wish i can talk to you

    :)

  • @tecana88 Talk to me then?

  • Humira didn't work for me. The side effects of the drug were just awful for me. I was so disappointed. The scientists are on a good track but they need to get rid of the side effects of these drugs. I'll pray that it works for others even though it didn't work for me.

  • @Honeycomb35 yeah it kind of makes me wonder, WHAT is up with medication that has bad side effects? why does it have to help u here, but hurts u there? why cant they come up with something thats normal and only helps u, period and doesnt have bad side effects? is that just the way it is or is it just not physically possible to produce medication with the "bad" side effects? like for realz..

  • People suffering from ibd and autoimmune disorders, check out 'Dr Raphael Mechoulem' from the hebrew university of Jerusalem he goes into great detail on the Endogenous cannabinoid system, its no big pharma quack crap!! its genuine science, also there is some great info from Dr Bob Melamede an associate professor of biology at the University of Colorado. good medicinal cannabis has the immune modulating power to surpass any pharma drugs ,im currently cutting down on 6mp and eating gd Q hash.

  • @herbalenquiry I looked up said Dr. and he doesn't even exist. What's up with that? I think you are falsely informing people to promote the cannabis issue which is not working with me AT ALL!

  • Remicade is great stuff if you can afford it. We need to make all these meds available to people who need them. But that will never happen because there is to much money to be made. I was diagnosed with crohn's when I was 10 (43 now) and I'am tired of all the treatment drugs and side effects and surgerys. I'am now looking into cannabis as a treatment. Trust me...there's a reason they don't want it to be legal. Drug company's pour a lot of money into campaigns against cannabis.

  • @hemified64 how is the cannabis working... do you need to swallow it. i am 21 with crohns.

  • Humira and Remicade are nasty chemicals that have SERIOUS side-effects. I have had crohn's disease for 8 years, one word - CANNABIS. Cannabis has changed my LIFE! No more flares, diarrhea, no appetite, pain, insomnia from the crohn's...truly a miracle herb! I can live a COMPLETELY NORMAL life medicating with cannabis, it's a miracle and it's SAFE! Thank God!

  • @GANJADUDEdotcom PREACH brother PREACH iv had full blow chrons for 11 years an for the last 2 years have been off meds due to their side effects an smoke marijuana every day an eat great with less pain after i eat waaaaay bigger appetites

  • @GANJADUDEdotcom

Hey man hope u're good :) I really need to know how u're using Cannabis..... can u help me???

  • @GANJADUDEdotcom Cancer?

  • Humira and Remicade did nothing for me. Only thing that works for me is methotrexate!

  • ive decided to suicide as i cant live with this. watch my videos for explanation

  • @1973mazdarx4coupe I have Crohn's too man. You don't have to kill yourself.

  • @CommunityCam I have chronze disease Ive had it since 1982 the doc said I have one of the worst cases of chronze disease he has ever seen in his life,,in 1990 I had to have my rectum removed my large instine removed and part of my small instine removed I know have a illistomy,,I dont absorb a fourth of what I eat so I need the extra calories ,,but in 2009 I was told that I have dibteis,I cant follow a normal dibetic diet, because of the chronze,so vise versa, chronze dibetis

  • @Dolphindream15 that's pretty drastic. they removed your rectum and your WHOLE large intestine? that's f up. how do you got shitting?

  • @xbearcanrockx shitting I have a bag that comes out of my stomache,,my shit just pours out of a bag,,,hell I dont even use toilet paper any more,,havent taken a shit from my ass since 1990 and I never will again its only a memory now,,,just squirts out into a bag,,,but what bothers me the most Im 47 years old I have never had a date before I have never had a realationship before and never been in love before or anything and still a virgin,,I dont drive and Im stuck, small town here,,

  • @Dolphindream15

i saw your story man it is so sad:(

i have crohns to but not bad as you

i will pray to you and hope you will find happiness if not in this life in the other life

  • @tecana88 thanks bud I think its important that we ALL pray for one another power of prayer does work,,I wouldnt be alive if it werent for prayer in 1982 I was only 86 pounds my high school diploma had to be brought to my room,,then that night I went into,,, ICU unit,,I was in the hospital for about 2 monthes,,barly made it out for the 4th of july,,I graduated from HS,,I was 18 years old,,but thanks man Iam a believer in my lord,,Iam real lonley here,,ghost town where I am,

  • @xbearcanrockx its hard getting accepted by others not a bad looking guy just limited,,I dont stay where Im not wanted,,,hell if I thought for a minute that a young adult man would spend time with me Id take the offer,,,and try sure beats sitting around watching tv,,,good friends are hard to find,,cant help that I crap through a bag nothing I can do about it,,on top of everything else Im also a dibetic,,,which complcates and adds to the problem, not much of a life

  • @CommunityCam i do too and we're the same age :)

do u have mild, moderate or severe? i have been diagnosed with moderate.

    how do u manage?

  • @xbearcanrockx I don't know what I have. I can have a pretty much normal life with no flares, but if I eat the wrong food, I can flare. When I do flare, it's quite bad. I was out of school for 2 months because of it this year, and last year one month. To be fair, those two times are the first times I've ever missed school because of Crohn's, but since it happened two years in a row, perhaps my condition has worsened. I don't know what you'd classify mine as, but if I maintain it I don't flare.

  • @CommunityCam did you ever have any surgeries or anything like that or did u try and treat it naturally?

  • @xbearcanrockx No, I never had any surgeries. It never really got bad enough for me to need a surgery, and even if it did, it likely wouldn't be considered unless there were no other options since I don't really want a surgery. When I'm in a flare, I just sit on an elemental diet and take Prednisone. For me, that has been the most affective treatment.

  • @CommunityCam yeah, I'm sure no one ever really "wants" to have surgery.. because the scar stays for ever, if not.. a very long time til it starts fading. it ruins your body and your looks and no one wants that. but for me i didn't have a choice, they said if i didn't have surgery at the time i did, i would have been dead

  • Sorry but I have to say Cat's Claw > Humira and Remicade. Can't beat all natural health benefits. Gotten off all meds and all my blood checks have come back into balance. I have much more energy, can eat more foods, and living a much better life without any drugs!

  • Woot Woot For The Remicade Baby!

  • God Bless Humira..with my very first massive flare up for 9 months my body wouldn't react to the prednisone, imuran, pantasa. I was on 27 tablets a day and the pain was .. can't even put it into words... but it was horrific. After 9 months of pure pain my doc told me about Humira.... I have now been injecting myself every 2 weeks and my CRP dropped in weeks from 69 to its 20's and then for the first time in 5 years my CRP was normal 17 months later. Today 2 years on.. my bloods are still normal

  • @nverster like being pregnant with twins/triplets who are 7 years old (with one being overweight) or not that drastic?

  • People - research this: Crohn's disease caused by childhood vaccinations and triggered by GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) mainly corn and soybean, which are now Franken-foods. I know. I HAVE Crohn's disease. Thanks for murdering me, US gubmint! Listen to TheAlexJonesChannel here on YouTube. YOU are being enslaved, empoverished and slowly murdered. Don't say I didn't warn you.

  • My daughter is on remicade it works

  • This is not about everyone but i just HATE the way people say that it's an uncurable disease that sticks with you throughtout your life time it's like they just want you to give up hope the minute they say that -.-

  • @metalmadness90000 - crohnsboy has a channel on here worth a look

  • @metalmadness90000 they are probably telling u that because they want u to keep going back to see them and pay for meds (that have horrible side effects) just so THEY make money.

i dont know if pharmacists and doctors salaries are connected in some way, but i am just guessing.

but would u would recommend? a natural path? that bad part is heath care and insurance DON'T cover it

  • I'm so lucky my Crohn's is EXTREMELY mild. I've never had any surgery and I'm currently only taking prednisone, flagyl and some dietary supplements.

  • I would recommend using Cat's Claw. It's a herb that reduces inflammation, relaxes muscles, improves immune system, fights free radicals, and lowers blood pressure. I got off all my medication for Crohn's by just taking this one simple herb at 4000mg/day. If you are unhappy with Crohn's please please please research this miracle herb. It has completely changed my life. You can probably find it at a local health store but if not, you can find it online at numerous sites.

  • I have been on Humira for over 2 years. In the beginning just like all the drugs I have been on it worked great. I was originally 40 mg. once every other week. My doctor increased to 1 dose weekly thinking the increase would help. It no longer works for me! I hope it continues to work for everyone!

  • My Crohn's disease was first diagnosed when I was ten years old, thirty four years ago and to say I have had just about a gutful (no pun intended) is the understatement of the century!

  • im on this humira few years, its great because it gives me relief from flare ups as often,

pain is still the nearly the same, its such a new drug, nobody knows the side effects of anti tnf treatments its extremely dangerous to supress the bodies ability to fight bactieria

  • I have Crohns and had three resections. Been on Humira for a year and it does not work for me. I hate this disease and at times I feel there us no hope for me.

  • @photobart1 at times i even wonder if there is a cure im sick of this stupid pain

  • June 2008 I have been on them since and I rarely suffer with my Crohns I have maybe one off day where as use to have one good day of the month and I feel it really does work. I can live on and do what normal 18 years olds do. And there are certain foods I know I cant have so I avoid them completely.

  • I was diagnosed with Crohn's 2 years ago and have been symptom-flare free for over a year now. I'm not on a diet, but I also watch what I eat like any regular person. I do not currently take any medication and I'm perfectly fine so I'm starting to doubt whether I really have it or not.

  • @Rancidknewl can you drink coffee ? or any kind of stimulant drink ?

    thanks

  • @AlvoradaMaster

Yes I can. Although I would recommend avoiding heavily spiced food such as Indian. That would probably make me sick regardless.

  • My wife started on humira after several month on remicade. The remicade nearly killed her but the humira appears to be working. She has been able to leave the house can come shopping with me for the first time in several years. She does get headaches inbetween shots and she if far from cured but she is better.

  • So after when your wife used that Humira

she feels better than before but what kind

chrone disease she have....like Rheumatoid arthritis or other does Humira work also in rheumathoid arthritis

if some plz let me know a friend of mine

    have that kind if disease........

  • Remicade is also known as Infleximab, It Gave me TB, and made the C.dif kill my large bowel!!! Unfortunately no medication works for me, just waiting on a reversal, the Dr has one more trick up his sleeves vid Diary to come soon!!, x

  • Heres a bit more information on Crohns Disease that I found.

    theoriesforcrohndisease(.)blogspot(.)com

    Hope it helps.

  • remicade worked for me!

  • I use Remicade, it was seriously like a miracle for me

  • same here. long live remicade!!

  • @TheEfefefefefefefefe I'm alergic to remicade :'(

  • @ADa89mixus hello. u can try enbrel. its very good too

  • It's pretty much the same thing.

  • @j7sh1 On a percentage scale, 1 being just as bad as before treatment and 100 being forgetful that you even have Chron's Disease, how normal do you feel now? Can you drink alcoholic beverages now?

  • @MOTACJ About 95. I have a hurt once in a blue moon. If i go off remicade I will go back into remission though. ANd yes I can drink now.

  • Perhaps you'd like to explain the facts behind your comment Brandon? i've been on Humira for nearly two yeas and its turned my life around.

  • I take this because nothing else would work and it hurts sooo much!

I use to have it in the pen form at the hospital but now my sister does it for me in the needle form because they couldn't deliver the pen one to us but it's ok because it doesn't hurt as much, buti still scream the whole house down :P

  • I stare at the T.V and count to 10! works for me (plus a bit of swearing!)

  • i take the pen ive been doing it for a while now and it always hurts... fuck my life

  • me too pen is not that good

talk to your dr to change your treatment

i was tacking pen but its effect not as i aspected so ill take steriods beleive mnay peaple are finally breathing

  • I have a lite version of crohn's, but I have a question. Can I smoke weed without any problems/pains? Please reply.

  • Weed is okay for crohn's, some actually say it helps!!!

"Studies indicate that cannabinoids in marijuana bind with cannabinoid receptors in the digestive tract, especially the small and large intestine, causing muscle relaxation, reduction of inflammation, analgesia, increased nerve-muscle coordination, anti-emesis, and relief of spasms such as those that cause nausea."

Tobacco on the other hand is a major NO NO so don't smoke cigarette!!! hope this helps.

  • Thanks for the reply, I really needed this info.

  • yup weed will probably help the pain

  • I don't know what I would have done without weed! I still smoke it actually. It's the only thing that will help me get my flare up under control in a matter of minutes. Taking my meds (prednisone) doesn't give you immediate relief. It takes a little time. Weed however, gives you that immediate relief that I need to keep from throwing up violently. I start Imuran as soon as i finish my antibiotic (sick with bronchitis right now!) I hope that it works. So i can stop taking this damn prednisone!!!

  • it helps ALOT i have a very bad version of crohns and i find thats smoking really helps

  • smoke is bad my dr told me

  • I too have crohn's disease. I have had this nasty disease for just over 10 years. In March 2009 I had emergency surgery and they removed a portion of my colon, small intestine & appendix, now I just had a second to repair a hernia- tear in my original incision. I don't believe in all these so called meds... simply try eating fruits & vegetables for a few months and see how few times you are in the bathroom, I went from 15 times a day to 2 it's no joke, I feel better with no side effects

  • my bro has crohns to all new people with crohns try remicade but be careful only a a certain amount of people can take it like my brother and my friends grandma was one of the first few people to try remicade when it was just made.crohns surronds me even though i don't have it.

  • I Took humira and took weeks later i was put in icu cause it caused an infection to go through my whole body - if you are proned to infections do not take humira it could kill you - humira caused a whole to open up in my throat - but i did respond well to remicade it put my crohns in remission for only two weeks at a time -

  • so did my brother to him remicade is a lifesaver! go remicade!

  • you have to make a test before taking it!!!

  • hey remicade is amazind it works so good 4 me i have crohns but i heard it works different with different age and im 13 so i dont know how it will work 4 everyone else

  • I have taken Humira for Crohns for two months and it has done nothing except make me more tired. There is no cure for Crohns but changing your diet can help. Each person knows their own body and what foods work best for them. I wish for two things insurance reform and a cure for Crohns disease.

  • I have taken remicade it doesn't work as well as the antibiotic's Xifixan, and entecort. After taking these medicines I have never been better!

  • yeah my bro does remicade it really works

  • I take Remicade

  • i've had this treatment along with every other treatment there is and nothing has worked and it now looks like a stoma is the only way to go crohns has ruined my life

  • im so sorry, my girlfriend is very sick w/crones and has been in the hospital for 10 days now its a nightmare and its destroying all of us in the family they want to remove 9" of her intestine but then she will live w/diarea and mal nutritoin its horrible i wish there was a cure. whats a stoma?

  • stoma = not good, time for heavy IV steroids.

if its crohns u cant really cut it out to well bc it doesnt go away. good luck!

  • i have chrons and just got diagnoesd

  • can this help UC ucerative collitis?

  • Crohn's & Arthritis only I think.. sorry buddy. :(

  • It is possibe if all other treatments have failed. It was believed that I had UC up until 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with crohns. Ive been trying drug after drug for 11, going on 12 years now. the only two i havent had are Humira and Remicade.

  • @Dcsk8er01

take humira it is so good

  • Yes I use humara and I have alcerative collitis

  • i just now been diagnosed with Chrons disease.i can not eat salty, spicy,or fried foods. The best treatment for Chrons disease and colitis is esomaprazole magnesium (Nexium), Lialda (Pentasa), and Prednisone which is a steroid.

  • Remember people, everyone's physiology is different and everyone as a group won't react to one drug equally. Your non-reaction to remicade and humira doesn't mean it's a placebo drug.

U must try different things until u find the one which works 4 u.

  • I take Humira for my Crohn's, it only keeps my energy up and keeps me form having major unremissions(I'm not sure what exctly to call it) I missed it by one and was out of school for 2 weeks. My body basicaly became dependant on it, plus I still have very loose bowls, unbearable pain in the gut. Also it took my parents a long time to even get it cleared for me to use by the insurance comapny and they raise the price of t monthly on us. Not worth it IMHO

  • Hello, I am in Training for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation , Team Challenge San Diego Chapter! We will be running a 1/2 marathon in Napa, CA. july 19th 2009, to benefit CCFA for research and finding a cure for This disease and awreness. I have UC! My website for donations is on my profile!

  • As a clinical pharmacist with nine years of a college

education and a crohns survivor, I selected to avoid

remicade as this is an expensive,DANGEROUS, medication

The side effect profile is SHOCKING. The CURE is out

there. The specific carbohydrate diet does work and heals

    folks without serious side effects.

  • Facts please pharmacist?

And this is a video about Humira, not remicade

  • yes remicade is a magical drug !

im 15 and i went through a stage in my life when i was about 13-14 when my life was pretty much ruined i have perianal crohns and crohns inside the bowel , perianal crohns is and ulcer that errupts outside the anus! it was torture to walk and everything but thankfully the doctors found remicade and my ulcer started to clear up within 2 months ! im so happy at the moment :) x

  • I've had crohns disease for 8 years now, it has changed my whole life. Always going to the washrooms, losing weight, alot of ER visits, alot of apointments etc But thank goodness they have remicade. It has given me my life back. I am pain free and can actully hold a job.. I know it doesnt help everyone, but it has changed soo many peoples life too. Maybe one day they'll find a cure.

  • Iam using humira for 3 months fith no results at all. I found out that I have even more diaria few days after the injection. Bofore that I tried remicade for a year also with no results, so Iam weiting for new drugs.

  • anyone who says there cured of chrones i, NEVER REALLY HAD IT Remicade messed with me bad along with all the pills, humara shots is all i use now,but the gut still rolls in pain hourly,an the shits still flows freely

  • This isn't Remicade, it's Humira and is a monoclonal antibody made completely from human protein.

Read the title before posting incorrect comments

  • Crohns is caused by government CHEMTRAILS barium.

  • Bravo! Humira.

  • I've over come crohns disease and know so many people who have done the same don't count yourself out. Check my story out crohnsboy dotcom. I'm not selling anything just providing a place where people can see people really can beat IBD's, jay aka crohnsboy

  • I went to your website, and its very awesome! Thanks for being so supportive. I have a loved one who has Crohn's and it really gives me hope to know there's people like you out there. Thank you again.

  • Check out IBDvideos' channel for more information on Crohn's

  • Helen, as you are giving out the SCD diet advice, I take it you have Crohns and its worked for you?

FYI, I've 'done the work' & tried different strict diet regimes for 3 years and not one ounce of benefit. Most of them were of a similar nature to the SCD so I'm sure I would of noticed a slight improvement.

I put my faith in modern medicine and it's paid off. Don't be scared of progress, its what helps to define us as human beings.

  • Do the work!! Don't pop the pills!! Find TRUE health!! Google "SCD diet main" you will find the SCD diet. It works!!! It's the ONLY diet that will TRULY bring you to the greatest amount of healing possible for YOU!! Our bodies are MEANT to work and be fueled through specific foods. Some with these autoimmune diseases are behond healing completely but the diet will bring them as far back to optimal health possible. In time PROBABLY med free! Meds are NO doubt in the LONG run making you sicker!!

  • Quit telling lies! There is no cure! I bet you don't even have IBD! Stop spouting off about things you KNOW NOTHING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're right I don't have IBS...my 8 yr old daughter was basically on her death bed with Crohn's last spring. She missed over 6 weeks of school and was going to be put on all kinds of meds. Thank God I found the SCD Diet!! She was back in School with in a week!! My whole family has been following this diet for 10 months now!!! She follows it to the letter the rest of us 80-90%. We all feel great. My daughter slowly got better and better! She has NO more symptoms and is on NO meds!

  • You're reply just says it all. Wow are you ignorant, I feel bad for your kids.

Firstly IBS has NOTHING to do with Crohn's disease. So you don't even know what your own child has and you're telling OTHER people what to do? Please educate yourself about crohn's disease before someone actually listens to your nonsense.

  • The SCD diet is different than any other diet. Unless you have followed it "fanaticaly" for one year you have NEVER tried the diet!!!

I can show you HUNDREDS of testimonials of people who have followed the diet for many many years and are MED FREE!!

Some have actually been CURED...yes CURED after following for at least a year.

It's NOT easy but it IS easy to say "diets don't work but pop these pills and you'll feel GREAT." Pumping a chemicals into sick bodies does NOT make them better. Sorry!

  • It saved my life! Good thing I have insurance though as it costs just under 1,000 american dollars every injection! You need a bunch the first couple of weeks starting the drug, then only one injection every other week! The shots aren't that bad especially if you have had crohns for 24 years like me and 6 surgeries removing most of my intestines!

Medical marijuana helps make this drug a cure for crohns almost! Just need too regrow some more intestines for normal pooping!;-)

    peaceouTy!

    TAMMpON

  • Wow... Something worth lookin in to.

  • After 6 years of trying 12 various diet 'cures' for six months at a time I had no improvement whatsoever and in fact got worse. So you can't blame me for giving up on them when after the first shot of Humira I noticed a benefit within hours and after my 2nd injection I was in complete remission.

What works for one, doesn't always work for another and I wish your son all the best with your chosen treatment, but Humira doesn't deserve to be so readily dismissed as'crap'

  • Actually it's not the same principle at all. I guess you really didn't look at it, but I was not going to allow my son to be put on drugs for the rest of his life. Not to mention, they haven't used those drugs for long enough in my opinion. The FDA will approve anything if you pay them enough.

  • I noticed you didn't mention the SCD diet.Oh well.

  • Not that specific theory, but I did the no carbs, no dairy thing which is the same principle. No noticeable effects apart from loosing even more weight.

After being on Humira I've gained weight, my energy levels are great and I never get any debilitating pain from my A.S like I used to get on a daily basis.

I've seen the warnings, but when you delve further into the research the associated risks for developing cancer/leukemia etc are no greater than any normal person not taking these drugs.

  • No it is not crap you idiot, I've suffered with Crohns and Ankylosing Spondylitis for over 10 years. I tried many different diets, Wheat, Gluten, Dairy, sugar, carbs, you name it I tried it. NONE worked. Each of them were tried for at least 6 months.

Shortly after being admitted to hospital for a Crohns flare up last year I started Humira, my symptoms have vanished and my life has begun again I'm a husband and father to my wife and kids again and also have a great job.

    Faith in medicine.

  • This is crap. You need to change your diet. Drugs are not going to fix the underlying problem.

My son has been on the SCD diet for 3 months.. and is symptom free.

Taking drugs is not the answer!!!

  • i have crohns disease. I've just started eating again. Now I have terrible pains and the other day I was vomiting alot. A nurse thinks it's not a relapse just a virus.

  • Please, try another way: thai traditional medicine and after 3 months you will be cured. See testimonies on youtube, searching "vilac plus" and see!! It's amazing and this medicine and its process is knowned since 2500 years ago! It's tropical fermented plants with species lactobacillus. These products are handmade and organic (bio), certified by Thai FDA and Organic Thailand! They use in some hospitals with hopeless cases but it's better to use before. Regards!

  • i like the way the video says that it mistakes food ro be forgin ... FOOD IS FORGIN but its a good forgin, yes ive been put on infliximab infusions but they make me sleepy and i was given a blood transfusion which REALLY weaks you up, hence your body clock gets messed up rofl that was a funny week i had ... good times

  • i quit the drugs, but now i am fucked again. i quit drugs becouse i had horrible sintoms, like for exe: no sex apetite! but i think i have no choice. is this new drug really work?

  • Humira has had no effect on my Crohn's Disease whatsoever. In fact, halfway through my treatment, I had the worst pain since my second bowel operation in 2006! My Crohn's never goes into remission. Oh joy, I also have M.E.

  • I take Humira, not for Crohn's Disease but for Rheumatoid. I was also on Remicade before Humira but became immune to it, Humira seems stronger. At least I think so. I get sick at the drop of a hat now, it's definitely a trade off. It works great, big improvement, but you can't mess around if you start feeling ill.

  • I m in pain right now, just want to load the F* gun and finish it.

  • i think chrons disease is a very "custom" disease i mean i have chrons and i know a lot of people react differently to the treatments

  • I have had crohns for 7 years. I was diagnosed in 2001 when i was 12. The first couple of years were tough. I lost alot of weight and had to be fed by a tube. I was told in 2005 that I needed surgery. This was the best decision of my life. I had it on a Wednesday and was out six days later. That was three years ago and I have not had any problems since. Anyone who wants advice can just ask on my profile

  • teamlightening keep looking what works for someelse might not work for you, So I got to ask have tried the SPECIFIC CARBO DIET, Ihave heard some people have stopped their crohn's no lie. I have a new friend that say's it has worked for him. what would be the harm for you to try it. You sound pretty angry, been there it never seems to help me. Kept trying I have read a book called Breaking the vicious cycle by mrs Gottschall. Once again it just might work for you. PEACE

  • i got crohns and i dont react of any type of foods, my only problem is that i got stenoses on my small intestant that dont want to go away. tried imurel and remicade, but that dont work good enough so on monday i fly to the hospital to get the bad part remowed. i have had my apendix remowed so i dont worry about the surgery, this is done at a good hospital the apendix was not so that was a bitch. the bastards tried to kick me out the day after it was done, can you belive that crap.

  • does anyone have this video? I would like to insert it into a presentation i am giving.

  • yes, you can find it on youtube here:

  • in response to what ever. I have almost died once but haven't had surgery. I am on humaira. I also believe that you need to find out what your body is naturally allergic to. it costs about 500 bucks to get the blood test done around here, and anyone serious about their disease should find everyway to help themselves, and the blood test is not harmful, so why not?

  • I am 19 and was diagnosed with Crohns when I was 12. The first few years were really bad for me the I had surgery when In 2005 when I was 16 and have had no problems since. I feel like I have been cured. Any people who have been diagnosed or want any advice go on my profile and ill be happy 2 help.

  • The point is food doesn't cause the reaction, the disease is caused by an over production of an enzyme that the body views as a threat. Food can irritate the already inflamed bowl, but cannot stop the production of the enzyme or the bodies response, and boosting the immune system only works to worsen the problem. I have tried all that raw crap and probiotics because someone like you told me I could cure my Crohn's, but there is no cure only false hope and a waste of time.

  • That's pretty judgmental, adjusting your diet may help some people, especially those with minor cases, but nothing will cure Crohn's. Do you really think doctors know the cure and let you suffer to make money? And that people just opt to be in pain and die because they don't want to change their diet? Don't give people false hope or bad advice.

  • No judgements here, but the idea of reducing symptoms rather than curing the condition, getting to the root of the problem, is troublesome. Eating a healthy diet is not bad advice. Educating oneself is not bad advice or hope, it's logical advice. How many diseases have you seen being cured by the medical community lately? How many medicaton commercials have you seen on TV and other media lately? Research, education...all things meant to enlighten one, and find answers to the causes of disease.

  • We know the cause of Crohn's, it is an immune disorder (similar to lupus or asthma). The body identifies itself as an enemy and attacks parts of the bowl. Some foods increase the body's reaction, such as the foods you recommend, but no amount of raw food will stop or cure an immune disorder.

  • Yes, I'm aware of how the disease works. Like any disease it's a multi-level event. It's how you live, think, and feel. It's not just raw foods that will help this problem. It's about taking a pro-active approach to food, fueling the immune system to keep everything in the GI tract from irritation. Again, food is the key to everything. Finding the right food combinations to eliminate the symtoms, takes time. Finding the ones that cause allergic reactions within the immune system, is key.

  • It is a silly assumption in the least to say that raw food will help this problem. Not only is cooking food necessary in the treatment of chrones, it is also absolutely crucial in vegetables and most fruits, as it is common knowledge these foods will aggrivate symptoms if consumed raw.

  • im on remicade and ill be switching to humira eventually as to avoid wasting a day to get an infusion... anyone else switch to humira and get good results?

  • did you switch yet? i just stopped taking remicade all together because it stopped working. D:

  • I actually decided not to switch and they told me I shouldn't unless it stops working. It just started working really well 2 days ago for me but we'll see what is still to come lol

  • I just had my 4 shot loading dose of Humira this morning.... Was on Remicade before that... keeping hopeful Humira will do the trick and kick my Crohn's into remission!!!

  • i was on a remicade and azathioprine combo and it worked perfectly. considering that anset caused me to become anemic, lose 40 pounds,go into kidney failure, and almost die three times that is saying alot. I hope you have success with this.

  • $5,000 for 6 months. All about the money.
