I had mantis prawn in Hong Kong. Its just oversized prawn. tasted the same as prawn to me. Maybe it was just the specimen that I had (mediocre size) plus standard steaming mantis prawn dish.

North Viet Nam is about traditional delicate cuisine (a little not attractive to me-foods taste too bland) while the south and the middle parts are famous for their variety of raw-materials, tastes,seasonings,and unique culinary. I'm Vietnamese, i was born in the south but my relatives live in the north.My parents still keep following northern culinary and force us to learn and keep the custom. but i still love food prepared in the southern way.....Guilty......
