Whats the big attraction to archery as opposed to shooting? and vice versa. Surely with a rifle, greater ranges and quicker kills can be achieved with less effort. if your using a powerful bow it should be just as quicker death than with a rifle, also bows are silent and rifles are loud, so if your hunting in an area you could scare off any other animals you were thinking of shooting

the appeal is that it is just more difficult to do. a lot more comes into play when archery hunting. when you are using archery u actially have to do work to get your harvest and you feel like you actually earned your kill. i have to use shotgun (live in MN) and we do drives so by the time i see deer im already beat.. LOL.

If you hunt with a bow the impact zone on the animal has much less damage than when shot with a rifle. The arrow slices while the shell impacts causing bruising. We do both bow and rifle where I live.
