I'm thankful MUTEMATH has exposure...this is a band that is composed of musicians who know their stuff and function well as a band. Another thing going for them is all their songs are unique; no two sound alike that I've heard. This is good in contrast to much of the pop music the media pushes on people that all sounds the same.  These guys are talented and it shows. Hopefully the public will hear more from bands like this that play good, solid music.

tape on the snare,, or other drums for that matter,, is a way to muffle the sound and stop any unwanted resonance... its the same reason you see people put pillows and such in their bass drum just fyi

Probably because that end of the stick is easier to roll being that its heavier.

Also it gives the snare a deeper tone (if its the head is tight enough).
